2/27/2015

Mia ate brown rice and raisins for breakfast.  For lunch she ate meatloaf, whole wheat pita bread, two servings of carrots, and three servings of apricots.  At the breakfast table Mia was talking about "Emma Lou!"  I think maybe it is a dog!?!  :)  I said, "Sorry, I don't know Emma Lou!"  Mia said, "Yes you do!!"  :)  Oh, ok!

Well today's highlight was the Return of Sophie Boyle!  (She was gone for almost two weeks!)  I posted a picture in each blog of Sophie focused on that child.  They were all so excited to see her.  (Elliott was standing in front of her seat doing a jig - bouncing up and down with excitement.)  Notice that Sophie has some hair in her right hand.

I finally had to slow down the steady flow of toys for Sophie.  She was soon buried under about a foot of them.  I don't think she quit grinning for the first 30 minutes after everyone was here.

Cooper and Mia say the funniest things.  She took off one of Cooper's socks and he told me about it and said, "That sneaky little critter!"  Ha ha!  Then Cooper was singing and Mia said, "I didn't know you were a song bird!"  LOL  :)  Then they were playing with the blocks again and had built some tall towers.  One tower fell on their "baby" (a little stuffed bear) and Cooper yelled, "Our baby in the trouble, our baby in the trouble!"

Cooper did something "impressive" (sorry, but I missed what it actually was!) and he said, "I'm a strong boy, I'm a strong boy!!"  Unfortunately at that same moment he happened to be standing on Mia's blanket and she gave it a mighty yank and he just about did a backward somersault!   His moment of glory was immediately reduced to yelling and tears.  :)

2/26/2015

Mia ate three servings of cinnamon toast and two servings of grapes for breakfast.  For lunch she ate a couple bites of baked chicken, couple bites of dinner roll, most of hash browns, and ate cherries.

I was sitting in the chair holding Elliott and talking to Mia and Cooper.  Cooper was prying on my arm trying to pull it (or something like that - I'm not exactly sure what he was trying to accomplish) and wasn't having much success so he recruited Mia.  Apparently she was pretty optimistic about her ability as she told Cooper; "Stand back!!"  Ha ha!

I took a couple pictures of Mia looking at posters and identifying letters.  I was asking questions and changing the questions around and Mia was doing great.  For example I asked her this; "What picture is with Momma Darcy's letter?"  (That is NOT an easy question for this age group!)  It only took a couple tries for her to figure out what I was asking and she answered; "Duck!"  Nice job Mia!

I was also impressed with what she did with this poster.  She found a couple of "small d's" and asked me if this was "Momma Darcy's letter too?"  That was very impressive because a "small d" really looks nothing like a "Big D."  We also practiced some sign language and did the shapes.  We've only done the shapes maybe three or four times and she's never shown much interest.  Today she got three or four correct (including parallelogram) and that was pretty cool.  We colored some more shapes today so now we have a total of ten to practice with!

Mia had three little dinosaurs sitting nose-to-nose and she was introducing them to each other.  :)  It went like this; "Meet your friends!  This is your family!  Spike, Roo, Me!!"  :)

2/25/2015

Mia ate whole wheat bagel and peaches for breakfast.  For lunch she ate ham, mac-n-cheese, large serving of corn, and a large serving of apple bites.

Well here's another picture of the kids building block towers.  This has been a favorite activity recently!  I love watching them work together on their projects and thinking about all the things they are learning while doing this activity!

I took this picture because I wanted to show you that Mia and Cooper will occasionally switch roles! He is reading the "Shoo Fly" book to her.  Of course, if you look at Mia's mouth you can see that she is assisting him!  (He was doing quite fine by himself - although the duet was very cute!)   :)  He got to the page where the mouse is in the honey and he said, "That's Winnie the Pooh's honey!!"  :)

During Art Time we played with Magna-Doodles and with the other magnetic toy you see in the picture.  Cooper worked very hard at his and moved every single button to a spot!  Mia lasted about 15 seconds with hers and was done.  However, after she watched Cooper do his and saw how much fun he was having she wanted to give it another try.  And the second time she worked hard at it and moved every button just like Cooper did.

During Story Time today the next book was "On Top of Spaghetti."  I asked the kids "What is this book about?" and Cooper said, "Meatball!"  Another book we read is an Alphabet book and it has very "catchy" verses!  We always identify people's name for each letter in the Alphabet book.  (Or some of the letters!)  When we came to "C" we mentioned "Cooper, Casey (Cooper's Dad), and Cline."  (Cooper's last name.)  Mia said, "Christina!"  (My daughter who was here last week.)  Love her memory!

2/24/2015

Mia ate waffle and most of pears for breakfast.  For lunch she ate two servings of tuna, and crackers, two servings of sweet potatoes, and ate mandarin oranges.  I had mashed up the sweet potatoes for lunch and Mia said, "Want more mashed motatoes!!"  :)

There are several dinosaur books in this book exchange and Cooper was asking the name of some of them (most of them have the dinosaur name printed beside the picture) and Mia was giving goofy answers.  She was just saying silly "non-words."  Cooper was not impressed!  He yelled "NO!"  He takes his study of dinosaurs very seriously!   :)

These first two pictures were taken yesterday after nap time, but I thought I'd post them anyhow because I think they're cute!  Cooper and Mia had built this tall barricade and were hunkered down behind it.  I asked them to peek around the corner at me and then I took the picture.  :)

We got the tunnel out yesterday afternoon and they had a blast crawling through it and rolling in it.  We don't get it down too often and they love it when we do.

This picture is from this morning when Cooper and Mia were working together to build their tower.  Not long after I took the picture Cooper started saying, "Be careful up there, be careful up there."

2/23/2015

Mia ate chex cereal and a couple bites of mixed fruit for breakfast.  For lunch she ate most of roast beef sandwich, sips of tomato soup, and a bite of lettuce salad.  Lettuce salad (no matter how I've dressed it up so far) is about the only thing I ever hear Mia say, "I don't like that."

Mia built the sidewalk you see in the picture and Cooper laid out all the bears.  He made sure they were all laying exactly the same - on their backs.  Then they moved the animals into the igloo and played with them there.  They also built tall towers to block the igloo entrance.  When they were in the igloo Mia started calling Cooper "Mommy."  And she wanted protection from that scary Elliott!  "Get that monster away!  Protect me Mommy, protect me!"  Cooper asked, "Like this?"  Mia said, "No, like this!"  (I couldn't see what they were doing.)  Mia said, "I'm scared Mommy!"  Elliott just sat there looking at them with an amused grin on his face.  :)

We did a toy, book, and puzzle exchange this weekend and the kids played a lot with these viewfinders or "cameras" as Mia calls them.  There are several different kinds of animals and birds in there and you push a button to move it along.  That was the first toy Mia played with this morning.  She said, "I've been looking for these!"

I sneezed pretty hard today - twice - and Mia said, "You don't feel very good today!"  Well it might seem that way, but actually I feel great, thank you!  :)

Friday after snack time Mia was helping put stuffed animals into the washer with me (preparing for toy exchange) and she was telling them all goodbye.  "Good bye babies, good bye babies" as she was slinging them into the washer.  :)

2/20/2015

Mia ate a large serving of oatmeal and ate half of her prunes for breakfast.  For lunch she ate most of hash brown casserole, bites of biscuit, and ate mandarin oranges.  At breakfast Mia reached across the table and said, "Shake hands Coop, shake hands!"  So they were shaking hands.  I asked why and she said, "Shake hands for breakfast!"  :)  Then at lunch she was saying (and I have no idea why), "More like it, more like it!"  It was kind of in the context of; "That's more like it!"

I took this picture yesterday afternoon and the kids were having so much fun in the wagon.  Cooper was just starting to pick up the wagon handle and Mia was yelling, "Faster Cooper, faster!!"  Geez, at least let him get started!!  :)  They switched and Mia took off flying down the sidewalk and Cooper had a huge grin on his face.  I noticed that he DIDN'T ask her to go faster!

I went to the Uptown Optical (a little plug for Mary; a friend from Plains) this morning to pick up my new lenses and Lauralea covered for me and took this picture and a couple of notes while I was gone. This was a block house that the kids built with Lauralea.

Lauralea also did some animal sounds (about 20) on her iPad from iTunes.  She said Cooper did awesome with all the sounds and nailed most of them.  Mia wasn't nearly as interested.  Then they were watching a video of babies laughing and Cooper loved it.  Lauralea said he was roaring!  Mia kept saying, "I wanna watch a movie, I wanna watch a movie!"  :)

As soon as I got back we did some stamps at Art Time.  Mia was asking (as she frequently does), "What time is it?"  So I told her to look at the clock.  She said, "I can't see the clock!"  (Which I interpreted as "I can't tell time!)  Then she said, "It's 36!"  And I said, "Perfect!"  :)  Cooper left the Art table and stubbed his toe and was trying to coax Mia into kissing it.  She said, "No" a couple times and then emphatically said, "I said NO THANKS!!"  :)

2/19/2015

Mia ate half of cinnamon toast and ate melon mix for breakfast.  For lunch she ate turkey slices, half of dinner roll, ate green beans, and mangoes.

I took this picture yesterday afternoon after Mia had put all these blocks away by herself!  I'd told her we were going outside after snack and after we'd picked up the toys.  She then went to the other side of the room and picked all of it up as well!  Speaking of outside time, she was running around the yard yesterday and "hurdling" every ball we had out.  Looked like a "natural" to me!!  :)

Mia built up this area with the blocks and it was a house for their horses.  The vacuums you see in picture are their horses.  She called them "Sparky" and "Clementine."  I have no idea where she got those names from.  Ideas?

Cooper and Mia did lots of spinning.  They were chanting "Christina" and Mia said, "I'm going faster, I'm going faster!"  She also did stickers at Art Time and played with Christina on the mattress.  Christna sat there while Cooper and Mia jumped over her legs and also had a tickling session.

After breakfast Mia and I were singing silly words and dancing; "Chica boom boom, chica boom boom...."  (Something like that!)  Cooper said, "I don't like that song, I don't like that song."  And continued to implore us to be quiet.  :)  We also read lots of stories, sang songs, and showed off their knowledge of sign language for Christina.

2/18/2015

Mia ate whole wheat toast and half of mixed berries for breakfast.  For lunch she ate ham, crackers, half of bean & bacon soup, and half of strawberries.  She looked at the strawberries and asked, "Is it cold!?"  Ha!  She still hasn't forgotten about the partially thawed-out strawberries from several months ago!!  Actually I haven't forgotten either and I always think of that when I look at the menu for the next day!!

This picture of Cooper and Mia with my daughter Christina was taken yesterday afternoon.  Christina was asking them the names of their Family members and they both did very well answering that.  Cooper said something about Grandpa's Farm and Christina asked him about Farm animals.  He answered "Yes" to every question even though there's not any Farm animals there; all crops!  Ha ha!

Cooper was stacking balls on top of each other and calling it his "snowman."  I started singing "Frosty The Snowman" and when I was done Mia said, "Sing more Christmas songs!"  When I finished it was "tell us a story!"  So I told them a story.  Then it was "Tell us a dinosaur Story!"  Ok, then it was "Tell us a Scary Story!"  Ha ha!  Nope that's not happening!

Cooper and Mia were walking in circles on the table bench and talking on their phones.  It's the Modern Daycare!  Cooper was talking to "Momma" and Mia was talking to "Grandma."

Mia built the blocks like you see in the picture and then got mad when Cooper entered; "This is my campsite!!"  Ha!  Hmmm, I wonder what she heard last summer during those camping trips!?!  Ha!  (Just kidding!)  But she was sharing her campsite with Cooper when another "invader" appeared!  It's an Elliott!!

2/17/2015

Mia ate whole wheat bagel and apricots for breakfast.  For lunch she ate bites of chicken, bites of elbow noodles topped with shredded cheese, ate a large serving of peas, and a large serving of applesauce.

Mia was being a horsey like usual and kept telling Cooper to "get on!"  So here's a picture of Cooper getting on his horse.  The horse is quite wild and he has the good sense to bail off pretty quick when it starts running wild!!  :)   (Which happens almost immediately every time and he's ready for it!)

My daughter Christina is here this week (from Louisiana) and Mia was trying to have continual attention from her of course!  :)  Christina played with them a lot this morning and Mia was taking "babies" to her and saying, "Will you give my baby a check-up?  She doesn't feel good!"  Cooper said, "I'm a Doctor!!"  :)

Christina saw Mia's painted toenails and asked if her Mommy did that.  Mia said, "NO!!  At the Paint Store!"  Ha ha ha!  (For those that didn't know, they had their nails done!)  That was funny!

Elliott was crying after breakfast and was ready for a morning nap.  Mia said, "I don't want to hear you cry Elliott!!"  Ha!  And he cried again!  She said, "I don't want to hear you cry AGAIN Elliott!"  Also after breakfast she asked, "Where's Christiana?"  Then she heard the microwave start up and Mia said, "She's pushing buttons!!"  Ha  Good job Mia!

2/13/2015

Mia ate half of her malt-o-meal cereal and ate raisins for breakfast.  For lunch she ate a bite of ground beef, half of elbow noodles topped with shredded cheese, ate apple slices, and mixed fruit.  Mia said, "Thank you for this breakfast; Thank you Gary!  You're a good cooker!!"  Love it!  At the lunch table Cooper announced, "I got pockets!"  Mia immediately asked, "Do you have cookies in your pocket!?!"  Ha ha ha!  I mean, what else are pockets for?  That made Cooper laugh and he said, "Nooooo!"

After breakfast Cooper and Mia probably played with the blocks you see in the pictures for 45 minutes!  They had the igloo completely full and here is the funny part concerning the first picture; Mia is inside the igloo!  She said, "Come in Cooper, come in!!!"  Silly Mia!  (About a minute after I took this picture the blocks were going in every direction and the igloo was about four inches off the floor!  Ha!  Mia was on her way out!!)

Now it was Cooper's turn to be inside the igloo.  They were using all of the building blocks that we have and it's amazing how many they could jam inside.

I got out the seven different "shapes" we glued to the popsicle sticks and Cooper loved doing those.  He remembered them all.  He loves "shapes" and never gets tired of practicing them.  Mia couldn't care less about shapes, but language is her thing and she loves words; learning new words and saying them over and over.  Yesterday afternoon she was walking around saying, "parallelogram" and "trapezoid."  :)

I was in the kitchen getting the lunch trays and Cooper started crying.  I heard Mia say, "Take a deep breath Cooper!!"  Ha!  She's heard me say that (over and over) when she's running wild and getting out of control.  And of course I show her what it looks like as well!  I guess she figured Cooper needed to practice too.

2/12/2015

Mia ate whole wheat english muffin and three servings of blueberries for breakfast.  For lunch she ate chicken, crackers, two servings of sweet potatoes, and two servings of cherries.  She was asking for a third serving of blueberries and said, "I want to pick one out!"  However, I thought she said, "I want to Pig-Out!!"  Is that what you said?  She wasn't impressed and emphatically said so; "NOO!!!"  Ha!

Mia was reading to Cooper - except this book she was singing!  (And telling Cooper he needed to listen to her!)  :)  Then she was reading one of the color books to him and I love how she does that.  "What color is the bear?"  Cooper answered, "Brown!"  "Good job!"  And on it goes!

Cooper stubbed his toe; "Ow ow owwwww (cry cry cry)!!  My toe, my toe!!  Kiss my toe!!"  Uhhh...I think Mia would do that!  "Kiss my toe Mia!!"  So she did.  Thank you Mia!  Then later he dropped a large toy on his toes.  "Owwwww owww, My toe, my toe!  Kiss my toe!!"  Uhhh.....repeat (see above)!  :)

Mia was very proud of herself for getting a paint shirt on by herself at Art Time and asked me; "Are you proud of me?"  I sure am Mia!  :)  Then she had the hiccups and I asked her about it.  She said, "I don't have the hiccups!!"  "HICCUP!!"  So I see!  :)

2/11/2015

Mia ate bite of biscuit and ate peaches for breakfast.  For lunch she ate baked beans, dinner roll, peas, and two servings of pineapple.  At the breakfast table Mia and Cooper were looking at the T-shirt I'm wearing (picture of baby) and discussing if it was Elliott or Sophie.  Cooper said, "We love you Gary."  That was so sweet!  I like the "we" part.  (Spokesperson for the group!)

Shortly after Mia arrived she said, "I need chap-stick!  My pooooor lips!!"  She's heard that a few times lately!  "Your poor lips!!"  They are getting better though!

Mia got these one-piece pjs on by herself.  Then she asked me if she could wear them all morning and at nap-time as well.  Sure, that would be fine.  I should have looked at the clock right then, but that may have lasted three or four minutes.  :)  She has worn these many times in the past, but they are almost too small now!

"Monsters and/or ghosts" have occasionally been in Cooper and Mia's conversations lately.  (I pretty much just ignore the words unless Cooper is getting scared and then I will lead them in a different kind of play.)  Anyhow, Cooper apparently called Mia a "monster" (I didn't hear it) because she said, "I'm not a monster!!  Call me your friend!!"  :)

Cooper and Mia were building towers and sidewalks again with the blocks and going into panic mode when Elliott even looked like he might be headed their way!  "Help us Gary!!"  Elliott was getting tired so I put him down for a morning nap.  He had not been asleep for five minutes when Cooper asked, "Where's Elliott?"  Then Mia asked, "Can we wake him up?"  Ha!  Toddlers!!

Tuesday, February 10, 2015

2/10/2015

Mia ate half of her breakfast: waffle and hash browns.  For lunch she ate chicken and cheese quesadilla, carrots, and three servings of mandarin oranges.  After lunch she was wanting to help Elliott drink his milk out of his cup.  She said, "He wants a drink!"  Ha ha.  So I told her she could hold it for him and he drank quite a bit of it.  He started pushing the cup away and Mia yells, "Hey! He's pushing it away!  That's not nice!!  He needs to drink it all!"  (I think she had an agenda!)  But she figured it out and said, "He doesn't want anymore!!!"  :)  Good job helping Mia!

In this first picture Mia is explaining to Cooper their "camping strategy."  The pile of toys beside them is their camping gear.  :)  Mia grabbed a phone and called Lauralea and then Jamie.  Cooper was using a phone as well.  Mia said, "Hi Lauralea!  We're having a picnic!"  "Hi Jamie!!  You want Cooper to join you!?....oh. ok!!"  Cooper said, "Hi Jamie!"  Hee hee.  I guess Mia had Lauralea on hold because then she said, "Bye Lauralea!  I'll call you later!"

Cooper and Mia had fun with the play dough this morning.  They like the animal cookie cutters the best - rabbit, pig, hippo, duck, dolphin, etc.  You can see the pizza cutters, spoons, knives, rollers and more that they like to use too.  Mia looked at the knives and said, "We can share these Cooper!"  (Of course sharing is much easier when they each have one!!)  :)  This play dough came from the Cline Family at Kenzie's birthday party # 4.  Today happens to be Kenzie's birthday # 5 and this dough is just as pliable today as then.  It's an awesome play dough recipe!

Cooper and Mia had built a pretty good barricade around the igloo.  (First line of defense to hold Elliott at bay!)  I was actually blocking off this side of the room so they could build with the blocks without a baby invasion.  Mia noticed what I was doing and said, "Gary!  You're my hero!"  Ha ha! Silly Mia!  She makes me laugh!

Monday, February 9, 2015

2/9/2015

Mia ate half of her cheerios and ate banana for breakfast.  For lunch she didn't eat too much (she was really tired!); bites of cheese sandwich, sip or two of tomato soup, and bite of lettuce salad.  I just remembered something from Friday afternoon snack.  We were having biscuits and I smelled them and said, "Boy those smell good!"  Mia ate one and asked for another; "More smelly biscuit!"  Ha ha!

We did a toy, book, and puzzle exchange this weekend and playing with the combs was one of their first activities this morning.  (Which surprised me because there are dinosaurs in this toy set!)  As usual, Mia was asking Cooper if he wanted a "ponytail or a braid."   And he had a choice of what color of ponytail holder as well!

They stayed real busy all morning playing hide-n-seek (Toddler Version - "You go in the igloo and I'll find you!"), making cakes with legos, jumping on mattress, jumping off the igloo, and playing "puppy."  Cooper told Mia, "Come in here puppy!  You're in trouble!"  :)  Their jumping turned into quite the competition!  Cooper said, "I win, I win!"  Mia said, "Ok; now can I win!?"  Then, "I win, I win!!  I get a trophy!  Go get your own trophy!"  Eventually they were a team; "We win, we win!!"

2/6/2015

Mia ate a large serving of breakfast: oatmeal and dried cranberries.  For lunch she ate half of her ground beef, half of elbow noodles topped with shredded cheese, ate a large serving of peas, and a large serving of applesauce.  At breakfast Mia said, "Don't put your face in your bowl!"  Cooper answered, "I was looking at it!"  :)  During lunch Mia was saying, "Apple" and Cooper would say "Sauce."  Over and over!  :)

I took this first picture yesterday afternoon and it was cute listening to their conversation about the different things they could see on Cooper's shirt.

This picture makes it look like a very calm Art Time.  :)  They are using the "Dot Painters" and using them quite aggressively I might add!!  We did it in the Day Care Room so we weren't separated from the babies and Elliott was sure laughing.  Hey!  I can pound on the table too!!  Cooper said, "It sploosh on me!"  :)

Cooper and Mia were having a conflict over a baby blanket.  (As with most of the toys I have multiples!)  It looked as if Cooper was trying to take Mia's blanket from her.  So I said, "Get your own blanket Cooper."  Mia responds (quite indignantly I might say), "But this IS Coop's blanket!!"  Well give him back his blanket then!!  :)

Shortly before lunch Mia was getting more rowdy and out of control and I told her she needed to settle down.  She said, "You don't understand Gary!"  Ha ha!  Well Mia, actually I understand quite well so come and hang out with me as I put the food on the table and that will help you mellow out a little.  :)  Earlier she was being an animal (her answer told me what kind of animal) and I asked her if she was "pawing" the ground.  She said, "I'm just digging my bone out silly!"  Ha!

Thursday, February 5, 2015

2/5/2015

Mia had several bites of whole wheat english muffin and ate blueberries for breakfast.  For lunch she ate turkey sandwich, green beans, and strawberries.  Cooper apparently saw Mia drip some milk at lunch.  He said (at least five times or more), "You spilled some!"  And he was quite concerned about it!  I asked him, "Spilled what?"  And he told me "milk."  Mia, meanwhile, is yelling, "Oh yes I didn't!!"  Over and over and the volume from both sides was escalating quickly.  :)

Here's another funny exchange between Cooper and Mia this morning.  (Well it was funny to me, but more serious to them!)  I didn't see what Mia did that Cooper didn't appreciate, but he was saying, "I not happy with you!"  And, of course, he was repeating it several times.  Mia responded, "Come on Coop!!  Give me another chance!!"  Somehow I managed to not roar aloud!!  Dang it was funny!  Then after at least a 3 second pause (that's a LONG pause in Mia's world) Mia asked him, "Now are you happy with me!?!"  LOL

Mia asked me to get out the Panda Bear and I told her I would as soon as Sophie was awake.  The second Sophie was awake Cooper remembered and asked for the Panda.  They probably played for at least 45 minutes and as you can imagine it was very rowdy!  Elliott is closely watching the craziness in the first picture.  Later, he was steamrolled under Panda Bear and he didn't even whimper.  Mia said, "He's ok!!"

Here's a picture of Mia launching off the top of the igloo.  She's getting some good height and distance to clear the Panda Bear!  Nicely done Mia!!  (That's for you Daddy!!)

I was changing a diaper and I asked Mia to take something to the garbage for me.  She went to the kitchen garbage and pretended to be scared.  And in typical Mia fashion she started singing, "Someone in the kitchen with Dinah...."  Ha ha ha!  Cooper was waiting for her and he said, "It's not a ghost!  It's Elliott!!"  :)

Wednesday, February 4, 2015

2/4/2015

Mia ate jelly toast and a bite of mangoes for breakfast.  For lunch she ate bean & beef burrito, a large serving of sweet potatoes, and a large serving of tropical fruit.  Right before lunch I was putting food on their plates and I heard Mia say, "Get on my back Cooper!"  I poked my head around the corner and she was standing on the igloo preparing to jump!  What!?!  :)  Ha ha!  When she had finished lunch she found a piece of fruit on the table (at least I hope it came off the table - just kidding) and said, "I found a piece of fruit!"  I asked her if she was going to eat it and she replied, "Of course!"  Ha  ha ha!  She cracks me up!

I took these next two pictures when Mia was reading (or attempting to read) to Cooper.  The book is about farm animals and she was singing, "Over in the barnyard by the big shady tree..."  Cooper started singing along....and that led to the next picture!

Mia stopped reading and is scolding Cooper because he was singing along with her.  She was telling him to just be quiet and listen to her!  I wasn't feeling too sympathetic because we'd just finished Story Time and she was being quite noisy!  :)  So I started being silly along with her and she said, "You crack me up Gary!"  Love this age group - never a dull moment!

Mia spotted a neighbor walking their dog down the street and started yelling at Cooper, "Doggie doggie!"  Then she went to the window and was waving at them and said, "Hi Neighborhood!!"  Ha! We also colored coffee filters at Art Time and then sprayed the pictures with water and watched the ink run. It always dries so pretty!  And of course I had to spray them a bit with some water too!  Mia and Cooper both started yelling, "Spray me! Spray me!!"

Tuesday, February 3, 2015

2/3/2015

Mia ate two servings of cinnamon roll and ate canned prunes for breakfast.  (The kids love those prunes!)  For lunch she ate half of this combo: scrambled eggs, hash browns, cheese, and sausage.  She also ate half of waffle, and ate her melon mix.  At breakfast Mia thought it was hilarious when I missed the garbage with a prune seed!

Hmmm...there's a common theme in these next two pictures!  Way to use your heads Mia and  Cooper!!  :)  They found a new way to move the igloo around!  What you can't see in this picture is Elliott on the other side of the igloo wondering why it was moving!

Cooper and Mia were taking turns stacking blocks for their "motorcycle" and then pushing each other around.  Then it evolved into intentionally crashing and having to rebuild the blocks every time.  Elliott was quite intrigued with the whole process.  I like what the camera did for Mia's leggings!  The picture above is a closer representation of how they actually look.  The stripes in her pants are straight across just like her shirt.

Elliott had a handful of Mia's ponytail this morning.  I was actually very proud of her response - obviously it hurt, but she didn't retaliate.  She yelled for my help and then cooperated when I took his hand and showed him what a gentle touch looks and feels like while stroking Mia's hair.  "Gentle touches" is the phrase the children hear many times a day at Daycare!!  Good job Mia!
