Mia ate several bites of breakfast: kix cereal and mixed fruit. For lunch she ate ham sandwich, two servings of peas, and ate mandarin oranges.
I like this picture! We'd been reading books and one of them was one of the "I Spy" books where they search and identify items. So Cooper and Mia were holding other books in front of Sophie (a bit too close to her face, but in this picture Mia is doing pretty good) and in this picture Mia is asking, "Can you find a bear?" Ha ha! (There actually is a bear on the page so at least it wasn't a trick question!)
Mia was lifting up the igloo (against the law) and got her hand pinched under the edge of it. Ouch!! I was putting lunch on the trays and I heard her cry and Cooper immediately came running and said, "Mia's hand stuck! Mia's hand stuck!" Very well done Cooper! I was impressed. So I rescued her and after I left I heard Cooper say, "Let's do that again!" Ha ha! Mia said, "I don't want to do that again!" Now that's a good choice Mia!
More about reading books - Mia and Cooper were answering the questions I was asking about the animals and doing a great job. (It was more like "filling in the blank" rather than me asking the question!) For example, I read the sentence "The little Panda likes to eat the sweet_____" And they answered, "bamboo!" Very good! It's a fun way to read to this age group and keeps them actively involved in the stories.
I was going to try to describe a couple of other books we read, but I'll just tell you what they call it; "Scanimation." How's that for a new word!? (You can "google" it if you're curious!) Geez - google - another new word! It's hard to keep up! Anyhow, maybe these books are partially to blame for Mia loving to play like animals. :) They have lots of different animals and they ask questions like this; "Can you gallop like a horse?" "Can you strut like a rooster?" "Can you slither like a snake?" And of course the kids love these books!

Mia ate most of breakfast: brown rice and raisins. For lunch she ate two servings of meat loaf, ate half of pita bread, ate carrots, and three servings of apricots. Or as she put it; "Apricots sure is tasty!"
This is a picture of where Cooper and Mia set up their "camp-site." They have three plates full of food and three glasses of milk - all nicely arranged. :) Then they also have their pile of puppies of course. Those Puppies represent the rest of their Family!! They were putting the puppies in front of the heat register when the fan was blowing and Cooper said, "They're cold - warm them up!"
I took this picture of Mia and Cooper working hard at puzzles because they were doing everything together; even carrying the puzzle back to the puzzle rack. Mia said, "Let's hold it together and put it in the rack." They did that three or four times at least. Some of the puzzles have dinosaurs and they were having a discussion about them. Cooper asked Mia, "You have a dinosaur at your house?" She answered, "Yup!" Maybe he was still thinking about that dinosaur egg!?! :)
Mia arrived before Cooper today and she walked in and said, "Where's Cooper and it sure is foggy!?!" (All in one sentence!) :)
They started playing in the swivel/rocker chair so I moved it to the Play Room. The last time I let them play with it and spin each other - Cooper vomited. Yikes! That was before Riley and Nora moved on to Preschool! Most of the time he was pushing and Mia was riding like you see in the picture. But I still monitored him very closely!! They had lots of fun laughing and giggling!

Mia had three servings of cinnamon toast and ate grapes for breakfast. For lunch she ate half of baked chicken, half of dinner roll, bites of hash browns, and ate her cherries. 45 Minutes before Lunch Time I said, "I'm gonna put the chicken in the oven!" Mia answered with a question; "What are we having!?" :)
The kids were having a conversation that totally cracked me up! Mia randomly said, "I have egg hatching at my house!!" Oh really? So I asked her what was in the egg. She immediately answered, "Dinosaur!!" Oh man........Now that got Cooper's attention! He stood motionless and his eyes starting getting huge! Ha ha!! He was sooooo impressed! He asked, "For ME!?!?" Mia said, "No! For me!!" There was a long pause......10 - 15 seconds or more.....Cooper again asked, "For ME!?!?" And again Mia answered, "NO! For me!!" She took off jumping and running and Cooper just stood there, still in total amazement and maybe slightly in shock! Ha ha! Finally he looked at me after many more seconds and again asked, "For ME!?!" Uhhhh, that's not what I heard. Sorry Cooper! It was soooo cute and funny. (And totally serious!) :)
Yesterday afternoon we were playing and running outside and Mia and Cooper were chasing me. They were trying to get me to stop and Cooper finally yelled, "The light is red!!" Ha ha! We haven't played "Red Light Green Light" here for a long time so I bet he heard that one from his sisters!
I figured everyone would get a kick out of this picture of Old MacDonald Farmer from one of our special books. Every time Mia and Cooper (especially Cooper) see this page they yell, "GARY!" Ha! Ok, I can see that! :)
And here's a couple pictures from this morning of Mia and Cooper playing under and on the table. It got a little wild (hard to imagine, right?) when Cooper was on the floor and he was able to start lifting the table off the floor with his legs. (With Mia still on the table!) Ok, that's not safe! :)

Mia ate two servings of breakfast: whole wheat bagel and peaches. For lunch she had bites of ham, mac-n-cheese, ate corn, and apple bites. Cooper was a little distressed at lunch because he believed Mia when she said, "Gary give you chocolate milk!" Silly Mia. :)
Some of these pictures seem kind of silly, but I'm obviously trying to portray some of the activities that held their attention this morning. They played with their puppies for 30 - 40 minutes. It started off when they stacked all of them behind the chair.
They kept running to both sides of the chair saying things like, "Go to sleep puppies, go to sleep puppies..." "They're sleeping, they're sleeping..."
Then they transferred their pile of puppies and blankets to a big pile on the chair. One-by-one they would drop them off the edge like you see in the picture and chant things like, "Go down ___, go down ___!" And they'd make up some nonsense word for them.
Mia read lots of books this morning. "Where oh where has my little dog gone, where oh where can it be......?" Mia changed it just slightly; "Where oh where is my pup at?!?!"
I've been working with Mia trying to help her accept the play times when Cooper just wants to do his own thing. She will come to me and usually say something like; "Cooper won't play with me!!" (And actually this happens rarely! But it's not necessarily a bad thing, it just happens.) So I've been encouraging her to join him and play beside him with similar toys, rather than barge in and take control and be bossy. This morning she did it perfectly and I was watching - I love it when I "catch" them doing something that we've been working on. He was "cleaning" and she asked, "Do you need help cleaning?" Well done Mia!

Mia had bites of chex cereal and ate half of mixed fruit for breakfast. For lunch she ate bites of roast beef sandwich, drank tomato soup, and had a bite of lettuce salad.
Mia and Cooper were playing with the stuffed puppies and that is their "family." They pile all the puppies inside the igloo and that is their "home." Mia said, "how 'bout I be a baby puppy and you be daddy puppy?" Cooper agreed to that arrangement and Mia said, "Dada!" Daddy Cooper Puppy said, "What?" Mia said, "I want some food!" Ha ha! Not too far out of character right there! Yesterday they were playing the same thing and Mia kept asking him questions and saying, "Ok Dad? Ok Dad?" Cooper finally said, "I am NOT your dad!!" Ha ha! Enough already!
First thing this morning Mia was reading to Cooper and then they switched roles. Cooper loves reading the "I Spy" book and locating the different objects. He was reading it to Mia, asking the questions, and then he'd say, "Ok, let's do the next page."
Mia and Cooper were sitting on the igloo surrounded by water! Cooper is pointing at the "crocodile" to warn me. "Crocodiles down there! Behind you!!" Actually I liked it better today when he called it a "rock-a-tile." Isn't that cute?
Cooper saw the snow coming down and he ran to the window saying, "snowflakes!!" Mia had an idea; "Why don't you go outside and catch one!?!" Silly Mia! We'd been looking at some "animal cams" and on explore.org there is a new cam of a long-eared owl sitting on her nest somewhere in or around the Missoula valley. We'd also been looking at the hummingbird sit on her nest. She was kind of shaking all over preparing to snuggle way down in her nest. Mia said, "I think she's freezing!" :)

Mia ate her pears and three servings of waffles for breakfast. For lunch she ate half of her tuna and crackers, ate most of sweet potatoes, and most of mandarin oranges.
Mia hurt her hand and Cooper was partially responsible and she was complaining about it. Cooper was trying to help and kept saying, "I need to kiss you! I need to kiss you! You're hurt!" Except he was trying to kiss her foot instead of her hand and that was making her more upset! :)
We did a toy, book, and puzzle exchange this weekend. They had piles of food on the table and as you can see in the picture Cooper piled up all the stuffed puppies as well. Cooper said, "They're really hungry!" Mia looked at the food and said, "For me!?!" (all excited!) Cooper said, "Nooo! For Puppies!" LOL
Then here's a picture of Cooper and Mia with Mia buried under the blanket. Cooper kept saying, "You're freezing! You're freezing!" And he buried her under the animals as well. Cooper told me, "She's sleeping for awhile!"
While we're all sitting for Story Time I'll frequently ask them questions about their life, what they did "last night," or whatever they want to talk about. :) Cooper said, "I played with my new skid steer!" Mia said, "My Momma went to sleep on the couch and I watched My Little Pony on my iPad!" I love the things they talk about. Mia asked Cooper, "Can I take your shoes off?" Cooper said, "No, Momma put them on!" Mia starts whining, "But I neeeeeed to!" :)

Mia ate oatmeal and canned prunes for breakfast. (That's a fruit that all the kids love! Probably because they're sweetened!) For lunch she ate hash brown casserole, biscuit, and two servings of mandarin oranges.
Cooper and Mia wrestled and mauled each other relentlessly for probably 20 - 30 minutes. They were having so much fun and no one was getting hurt, so I just monitored it closely. :)
All morning they'd been using Mia's blanket in their play; wrapping themselves together and spinning across the room and of course that quickly evolved into a full-fledged wrestling match. See how Cooper's head is all wrapped up in the above picture.
They are both in the picture below. They were rolled up in the blanket and rolling across the room. We've had lots of kids in our program over the years that would not have liked being that constricted! It finally all ended when Mia's hair was getting in her face too much. She said, "Let go of me Cooper, let go!! I'm not a toy!!" Ha ha!
They did stickers at Art Time, watched the garbage workers (pick up both sides of the street), read books, and build with blocks again. Elliott was continually threatening to knock over their tall block towers. Mia said, "That was rude Elliott!" Ha ha! Then she said, "That was rude TyTy!" (That's her dog Titan.) One other thing Mia said that you all might fine cute; Sophie's nose was running and she was a bit fussy and Mia said, "I hope her Grandparents take good care of her!" :)

Mia ate three servings of cinnamon toast and ate melon mix for breakfast. For lunch she ate half of turkey slices, half of dinner roll, ate green beans, and half of mangoes. At breakfast she said, "This is my favorite food in the whole world!" I made her her second serving of cinnamon toast from a whole wheat hamburger bun. She said, "It's wonderful! I love it!" :) Then at the lunch table Mia said, "I got my sword (waving her fork around) Captain Gary!!" Which was pretty funny except that led to the next step which involved Cooper; "Let's fight Cooper!!" Our forks are for eating our food! Mia exhaled a big sigh; "Ok Gary." :) Then after that she called me "Pirate Gary." I guess I got demoted!
Mia was a little concerned yesterday afternoon when Cooper got picked up early to go get his haircut. First she said, "I'm so proud of Cooper!" Oh really; what for? "For coming to your house. He's not going to the farm again is he!?!" :)
Here's a picture of Cooper and Mia doing some painting at Art Time. They also painted the cardboard "bracelets" you can see sitting in the middle of the table. (We're going to decorate those tomorrow.) I held them while the kids painted them. When Cooper finished his picture he said, "I made this for my Mom!" I totally forgot to put their paint shirts on before this project. (Did anyone notice that in the picture?) This paint easily washes out, but thankfully they were actually pretty careful and didn't get much on themselves. That is not always the case!! :)
I took this picture of the kids playing because Elliott was laughing so hard. Cooper is under Mia's blanket and Elliott thought that was the funniest thing ever! Cooper kept walking towards him making funny sounds and Elliott just laughed harder. Mia very graciously let them play with her blanket for several minutes before repossessing it! :)
Mia and Cooper were also "hiding" from Elliott. Elliott spent most of the time playing at the window so everyone was happy. Cooper and Mia were also camping again - one of their favorite games to play. They kept saying, "Build a Campsite, build a campsite."

Mia ate mixed berries and three servings of whole wheat toast for breakfast. For lunch she ate ham, crackers, half of bean & bacon soup, and ate her strawberries. At the breakfast table Mia said, "I'm so glad you're here Cooper!" It was very sweet. Then of course she had to start bossing him; "Cooper, don't play with your food!" (three times) At the Lunch table Mia said, "I love you Cooper! After a short pause she asked him, "Do you love me?" Still no response. He was too busy eating his ham! Ha!
Here's a picture of the first thing they played with after breakfast. They were building it tight against the entrance to the igloo and then they'd squeeze into the igloo and they called it their "home." They had almost as much fun pushing it over. And rebuilding it. (three times) One time they toppled it over accidentally and Cooper said, "Oh Poooey!!" :) They learn a lot in the process - experimenting with different ways to build it and especially working together.
Cooper and Mia were sitting at the table waiting for me to get their shirts for playing with Bath Foam. Cooper said, "Pow pow!" What are you doing? "I just shot at the bath foam!" Ha! (I see he learned some tricks at the Farm!) They both had a blast playing in it and making a big mess. When I took this picture Cooper said, "We can draw roads."
Cooper and Mia also played in the chair pretending to "watch TV" they said. They also hid in the igloo from Elliott and played an extensive amount of "chase." Wrestling and mauling were primary activities this morning as well! After lunch while I was feeding Sophie they had the little stuffed animals and that was their "family." Mia said, "Cooper, bring me my son!" Cooper said, "That's your friend!" Mia responded, "No! That's my son!!"

Mia ate three servings of whole wheat bagel and ate apricots for breakfast. For lunch she ate bites of chicken, ate elbow noodles topped with shredded cheese, ate peas, and two servings of applesauce.
Mia said she was going to build a "campsite." Isn't that cute? She stretched it across like you see in the picture and said, "Look what I made!" So I got the camera and she asked me, "Are you gonna put that on my blog?" Ha! Yup!
Mia had every one of the animals out from this toy set sitting on the step below the window. I took this picture and she said, "Can we do that again tomorrow!?" :) Uhhh, yes!
We sing this song "There was a Mommy had a girl and Mia is her name..M-I-A, (we spell out the individual names) M-I-A,...." It's lots of fun and the kids can also start associating letters with their name. Anyhow, this morning Mia was switching it up and started singing, "There was a Riley had a Mom and Jamie was her name...G-A-R-Y (3 times) and Jamie was her name." Ha ha! Then she sang the same thing using Elliott and his Mom and - "Kimberly was her name...G-A-R-Y.." Love it! Hey, she knows how to spell my name!
Mia read books, ran LOTS of laps, looked at animals in the Viewfinder, and wanted to look at "doggies" Web Cam again. When she saw the puppies playing and said, "When I was a puppy I played in there!" Ha ha! Oh Really!? :)

Mia ate two servings of bran cereal and ate dried cranberries for breakfast. For lunch she ate half of her cheese pizza, bites of corn, and a large serving of tropical fruit. Elliott ate a little at breakfast and laid down for a morning nap. Mia said, "It's just you and me Gary! (Cooper will be back from the farm tomorrow.) I love you so much! And I love Layla! She's gonna be big just like Mom and Dad!" Then I said, "So will you!" Mia answered, "No, I'm gonna be a giant and cook like Mom and Dad!" :) Oh, ok!
Elliott was "daddy daddy daddy daddy..." all morning. Mia finally told him; "He's NOT Daddy! He's your Gary!" Ha ha ha! Pretty cute. Also about Elliott - Mia had her blanket laying on the floor and He sat on it and looked at her to see her reaction. Mia yelled and pulled hard to get the blanket away from him. I told her she could take it to the big box if she didn't want Elliott to get it. So she headed that way and put it in, but immediately decided it was kind of fun and took it back over beside him to tempt him with some more blanket play.
Mia said, "I'm so happy you found the Panda Bear!" :) She did have lots of fun rolling around with it and she also let Elliott play on it as well.
When Elliott got tired of the bear Mia was rolling it all over the room by herself.
Mia was being loud with her squeals and other various animal sounds. (And lots of really loud snorting !) I told her that my hearing aids were working very well! (And thankfully they really are!) She looked at them and said, "And they're staying in good!!" LOL Oh good! I was in the kitchen getting the breakfast tray cleaned up and she said, "What the heck happened to you!?" Ha ha ha. Oh yes, this is just an FYI thing. I heard her using the word "stupid" (in reference to me and then later about herself) and so I told her we didn't use that word here. I knew you guys wouldn't want her saying it either.

Mia ate malt-o-meal cereal and two servings of raisins for breakfast. For lunch she ate half of ground beef, half of elbow noodles topped with shredded cheese, ate apple pieces, and mixed fruit.
Yesterday afternoon I was sitting outside with Sophie when Mia came over and said, "It's peace and quiet over here!!" Ha ha! Silly Mia! I said, "Yup! It sure was!" :)
Here's a couple of funny things Mia said this morning; "Help Gary!! He (Elliott) stepped on my blankie!!" (Except he hadn't - I was watching.) No he didn't. Mia said, "Well he almost did!" Later I was flossing my teeth and she said, "What is that?" I said, "You know what this is!" Mia said, "It make you feel better so you don't get sick! Get sick and go to Doctor and he give you floss to make you better!!" :)
This morning she said, "I don't want to play, I want to run!" So I took some pictures of her not playing, just running! :)
Elliott was sitting there watching Mia run circles around him.
Mia was playing with the masks and as you can see in the picture Elliott was wanting to grab the one she had. I read books to Mia and we practiced some sign language and sang songs. She's pretty amazing with remembering songs and books. Nice job Mia! Also, she's been a great helper lately and she loves to help!

Mia ate whole wheat english muffin and three servings of blueberries for breakfast. For lunch she ate chicken, crackers, a large serving of sweet potatoes, and two servings of cherries.
Mia does things and says things that make me laugh! I was wrapping up Sophie for her morning nap and Mia asked me; "You need some help here!?!" Ha ha, no I think I've got it, but thank you! Yesterday my 86 year old mother called and I had her on speaker phone and Mia told her, "My baby
is 6 month old Layla! She might get big some day!!" :)
I took this picture this morning when Mia and I were working on trying to find the leak in the air pillow I frequently use for my back. I was holding it under water and she kept asking, "What are you doing? What are you doing?" :)
I included this picture of Sophie because when Mia saw the picture she asked, "Who are those two people!?!" Ha! But there are two people!! And I also thought everyone might want to see how Sophie is growing and now able to sit up by herself a little bit.
After Art Time we were reading some books and like I've said many times I love asking them about the books to see what they remember. "What's this book about I asked?" Mia thought for a moment and said, "Hurrah Hurrah!!" Great answer! It was "The Ants go marching one by one hurrah hurrah....the ants go marching..!"
Mia and Sophie are the only ones here again today so we had time to look at Explore. org. That's one place where all the "animal cams" are located. Mia always asks, "Can we see the doggie on your computer Gary?" There is a Great Dane that had a litter of 8 pups in the last 24 hours. We also looked at a hummingbird (the web cam is super close to the nest) sitting on her eggs. She was off the eggs for a moment and Mia said, "She's got eggs!!"

Mia ate biscuit and peaches for breakfast. I told Mia I'd just taken the biscuits out of the oven. She said, "They're really interesting!" :) For lunch she ate baked beans, half of dinner roll, ate peas, and a large serving of pineapple.
Mia and Sophie are the only ones here today. Cooper is still at the Farm and Elliott has a bad cold. Mia had a good morning; we read lots and lots of books. did some stickers at Art Time, some singing, dancing, and I watched Mia jump and run.
Here are a couple of funny things that Mia said; She was watching me feed Sophie and said, "I'm gonna feed Layla when I get big!" (Don't forget - she might keep growing too!) She was moving along the edge of the garage and keeping her balance on the the narrow ledge of concrete. (We always call it "mountain climbing!") She said, "Do you wanna do that when you get Little!?" I guess she expects the growing process to work in reverse!? :)
I took this picture of Mia while she was reading her books to her babies. These are the same babies she played with on Monday and Tuesday. Also, Mommy did a nice job of putting a braid in Mia's hair this morning. Very pretty.
Right after I took this picture of Mia visiting with Sophie Mia jumped up and started doing sprints around the baby seat! It was funny and it was certainly entreating for baby Sophiie.

Mia ate waffle and most of hash browns for breakfast. For lunch she ate chicken and cheese quesadilla, carrots, and cantaloupe. At breakfast today Mia said, "Cooper still at the Farm....In the early morning sun..." Ha ha ha! That's part of a Farm Book/song that we read and sing. It was cute how she combined the two things.
Mia has been FREQUENTLY (sometimes a minute apart) asking me; "What time is it? What time is it?" Ha! So this week I've been pointing at the clock and saying, "The clock is right there!" So she'll say some random numbers and I'll say, "You're right!" :)
I took this picture in the lunch room when Mia was playing with Sophie while waiting for me to put her lunch on the table. Mia started spinning the saucer faster and faster. :) Ok, let's do something different! :)
We were reading stories and one book - "Curious George" - was asking questions. "Do you ever feel silly?...Do you ever feel curious?" When the question was, "Do you ever feel sick?" Mia said, "Sometimes! Riley, Kenzie, and Cooper make me sick!!" Ha ha ha! We all know what she meant, but it is still funny! Then we were reading one about Mickey Mouse and the Barn Dance. When I finished she said, "What a beautiful book!"
She played with the drums, babies (same ones as yesterday of course), and the phones. The phones had to be the same ones as yesterday too and she had to find the "matching" ones as well. I wasn't aware that any of them matched, but it was VERY important to her. :)

Mia ate several bites of cheerios and two servings of banana for breakfast. For lunch she ate a few bites of cheese sandwich, several sips of tomato soup, and ate mandarin oranges.
Mia and I were having a little visit about her weekend and other random things and I get such a kick out of her language skills. Here are three or four I jotted down:
She said, "You're the boss; remember!?" Yes Mia, I remember. Now I want you to remember too!
"I'm so happy it's toy exchange! Micala did it for us." (the girl who cleans the Daycare)
She said she couldn't go to school this weekend because; "Gary closed my school!"
I asked her if the Doctor gave her some medicine and she said, "No, Mommy did." :)
We did a toy, book, and puzzle exchange this weekend. Mia read lots of books and even did a puzzle. (Doing puzzles is not really a favorite of hers.) She likes looking at the puzzles and she was especially happy to see an animal puzzle of Mommies and Babies and that's the only one she chose to work on.
One of the books we were reading was giving a list of things to do. For example it said, "Wiggle your nose." So Mia reached up with her hand and wiggled her nose. The other one I liked said, "Tell me a secret." So Mia started whispering. Love it.
There is an animal theme to this Toy Exchange. Mia put on the Lion Suit and she has the tail in her left hand. "I got a tail! I got a tail!" Then she started saying, "Where's my cub?" She found a little Tiger Cub stuffed animal and put it inside of her suit.
Then she said she wanted to be a Daddy Lion and put this suit on. Elliott was getting a kick out of watching her.
Cooper is at the Farm with Grandpa and Grandma this week and Sophie is sick today so it is just Mia and Elliott here. Mia did the math. First she said, "Where's Sophie?" I told her Sophie was sick and she said, "Just 2 kids; not 4 kids!" Nicely done Mia!! I am impressed! That is good cognitive skills for a 3Year old.

No Blog for Mia today - she's home sick. So hopefully everything will be back to normal on Monday.

Mia ate whole wheat english muffin and two servings of blueberries for breakfast. She did not eat any lunch and the explanation is below!
About 10:00 we were reading stories and she said, "I don't feel good." She'd been playing and participating in our activities just fine up to that point. When we were done reading stories she asked for her blanket and sat on the chair like you see in the picture.
And she sat like that for probably 30-40 minutes. She only complained once or twice more about not feeling good and then she got very quiet. I realized she'd went to sleep!! A little bit out of character, right!? I asked her if she wanted to eat something before taking her to her nap mat and she said, "no." So we'll see how she's doing after she wakes up. I did take her temperature and it was normal.
I asked Mia this morning, "Do you still have the unicorn that Gary gave you?" She said, "Yes, I keep him safe so he doesn't get in trouble!!" Ha ha. She added, "I have 3 dinosaurs and a unicorn - those are my pets! And I have Titan! I call him TyTy!" Very cute.
Baby Sophie rolled over and bonked her head on the changing table. I said (mostly talking to myself), "She has no idea about space!" (Meaning - she didn't realize how close she'd scooted to the table.) Mia said, "Outer-space!!" So I asked, "What's outer-space?" Mia said, "for a rocket ship!"

Mia ate three servings of jelly toast and two servings of raisins. For lunch she ate bean & beef burrito, two servings of sweet potatoes, and a large serving of tropical fruit.
"Have multiple toys!" they said, "always have multiple toys!!" :) Well this is how it looked with the sit-n-spins this morning! Actually I guess Cooper and Mia did take advantage of the three sit-n-spins; they kept saying, "let's drive this one!" as they moved from toy to toy!
I had the highchair in the Daycare room and was feeding Sophie some squash. Mia was underneath the highchair saying, "Hide Cooper, hide!! Gary and Sophie are monsters!!" Ha! Cooper totally did not like that!! He kept pointing at us and saying, "That our friend!! That our friend!!" And he was stilling trying to set Mia straight several minutes later at the lunch table! Pointing at me and continuing to say, "That our friend, that our friend!!" :) Thank you Cooper!!
We had a fun morning. The kids did stamps at Art Time, we practiced our shapes, did sign language, sang songs, read lots of books, and they did lots of jumping off the igloo into the "swamp!" :) We were singing, "I'm a little Teapot short and stout.......Just tip me over and pour me out!" I always love asking them questions about the songs and their answers are soooo cute!! What's in the Teapot that we pour out? Mia yells, "Coffee!!" Ok, I can live with that!!
Mia is so much fun to converse with!! Language is one of her strength's and she has a great vocabulary and remembers all the phrases she hears and will frequently use them in context. At the same time she is only 3 years old so cognitively she's not able to grasp different contexts, definitions, plays on words, etc. Yesterday she was showing off her "Frozen Panties" to everyone! She said, "I have lots of frozen panties!!" I said, "Geeezzz...I'm so sorry! Do you keep them in a freezer at your house!?" She said, "No, I just have toast...and cereal!" Moments later..."Ouch! I hurt my finger! On purpose!!" :) I told her, "Oh, I'm so sorry!"......"What does 'on purpose' mean?" I asked. She said, "My fingers!!" It's so cute because she always has an answer!! :)

Mia ate two servings of cinnamon roll and two servings of prunes. They all love those canned prunes. For lunch she ate half of scrambled eggs, hash browns, sausage, and cheese combo, ate waffle, and melon mix. At lunch she said, "We're missing somebody!!" Who are we missing? She said, "Lauralea!"
Molly has been coming this week before lunch to give Sophie medicine for ear infection. Mia asked me today, "Why her Mommy coming?" So I answered with a question; "Why is she coming Mia?" Mia said, "She got ear-pointment!" :) Very good!
I was telling them some stories this morning. It started with the "Three Little Pigs" and Mia kept asking for "another story" so I just kept making up stories and she was loving it. She told Cooper, "He's my best Gary!" Very sweet Mia!!
Here's a picture of Mia enjoying some toys we brought in from the patio. We have several toys in a tub outside that we use for rainy days.
The kids had fun doing some stickers at Art Time. We found a letter "D" for Mommy and "L" for Layla. Mia said, "Mommy will be soooo happy!!" :) Sorry Daddy - your name begins with "M" and we've used all we can find for Mia!! Then they wanted another "tent" so we found a bigger Day Care blanket in the back room and put it over the table. :) They were chanting under the blanket; "Find us Gary, find us!!"

Mia said she did not want to eat any breakfast. She sat at the table and I offered it two times and said, "That's fine, but you'll have to wait for lunch to eat then and I don't want you pestering me about how hungry you are." And she played great all morning, never said a word about being hungry, and ate a great lunch. She ate a large serving of ham sandwich, ate a large serving of peas, and two servings of mandarin oranges. At lunch Mia and Cooper were yelling for Sophie to come out and eat. :) Cooper was a little frustrated and said, "Her won't come out!!" :)
The sign language for "wash" is both hands closed (like a fist), palms toward each other, and rubbing together. Mia was trying to wash her hands that way. :) That was pretty cute, but it doesn't work too well for getting your hands washed!!
Mia was lifting the igloo off the floor and I told her we keep the igloo on the floor because it's not safe and we may pinch someone's fingers or toes. It wasn't two minutes later she lifted it again and pinched her toes. Perfect example of "natural consequences." "Honey, that's exactly why we keep the igloo on the floor." And she didn't do it again the rest of the morning!
Cooper and Mia were asking for me to put a blanket over the Big Box to make their "tent." So here's a picture of the tent. (And they are playing in there.)
Mia and Cooper were playing a "hide-n-seek" game. They were taking turns hiding in the same spot; behind the dress-up clothes hanging in the clothes rack. (It was actually a pretty good hiding spot!) Then Mia would come to me and ask; "You see Cooper anywhere!?!" Then it was Mia's turn to hide and Cooper would ask, "You see Mia anywhere!?!"
