12/26/2013

Mia ate kix cereal and mixed fruit for breakfast.  For lunch she ate some ham, bites of toast, ate corn, and mandarin oranges.

Mia was the only one here today, but she stayed engaged most of the morning playing with toys and looking at lots of books.  We did a toy, book, and puzzle exchange so it was all new stuff for her and the first thing she did was empty the book rack into the big chair, then sat in the chair and read.  Later, I read lots more books to her.

She also played with lots of food toys and bringing me lots of bites of food.  I saw the picture on Facebook of her new kitchen set so I'm sure you all have been getting lots of bites of food too!

I was talking to Lauralea this morning about a party we are going to attend tonight.  Lauralea wanted to know who was coming to the party and asked me, "Who's coming?"  Mia was playing at the sink, but heard the question and yelled out, "Santa Claus!!"  Ohhh, I laughed so hard!  That was perfect!  :)

Like I said she's the only one here today and I wish I had a dollar for every time she asked, "Where'd Cooper go?"  Where's Cooper at?"  I answered "The Farm" every time.  So when she asked I would then ask her where he was at.  She'd say, "Ahhh, the farm!"  :)   One of the times she answered, "Night night!"  :)   Then another time she asked, "Where'd Cooper go?"  "Where'd Riley go?"  "Where'd Jamie (their mom) go?"  "Where'd Pat (Nora's dad) go?"  Which really made me laugh because she never did ask where Nora was at!  She just asked about Pat!

I wish everyone a Happy New Year and we'll start the blog back up when Mia returns from Texas!

12/20/2013

Mia ate oatmeal and dried plums for breakfast.  For lunch she ate half of her hash brown casserole, bites of biscuit, and ate mandarin oranges.

Sorry to talk publicly about your poop Mia, but here goes: She was kind of upset about something and then she had a large poop so I kind of figured she was just uncomfortable and this would help!  And she did much better, but then started 'cranking' again!  After lunch and right before nap she had another large poop!  Geez, no wonder she was uncomfortable this morning!

When she was feeling uncomfortable she didn't want anyone close to her, but then she wanted to be close to them!  Back and forth it went.  She went into the igloo and pulled the yellow bench across the front of the entrance so Cooper couldn't join her in there!  (Actually he can easily move the bench, but I helped honor her request by not allowing him too.)  :)

These masks have been in this two-week toy exchange, but on one hardly played with them until about Wednesday or yesterday and now everyone is playing with them!  This picture is Mia wearing the Grandma mask (from Little Red Riding Hood story) and giving Cooper a close-up look!

Riley and Nora were having a major argument (Until I distracted them with watching the daycare Christmas video) about who Cooper belongs to.  :)  "My Buddy!"  "No! My Buddy!"  And on it went and Mia joined the happy crew too! "My Buddy!"   :)

We watched the Daycare DVD this morning and all the kids loved it!  However, there was one place that it skipped forward (it said something about "damage"), but I think it was a disk problem.  Those are all new disks, but if anyone else has that problem we'll just burn you a new disk and see if that solves it.

I want to wish everyone a very Merry Christmas!  And a reminder that the next Journal entry will be on Thursday, December 26th.  Love you all!

12/19/2013

Mia ate a bite of french bread and ate cantaloupe for breakfast.  For lunch she ate turkey, crescent roll, green beans, and two servings of dried mangoes.

Riley and Mia found a new hole to peek through.  Cooper soon came by, started shaking the bench, and they yelled at him for the "umpteenth" time this morning!  :)

Every day after nap time I use a little laptop to enter the attendance for the Food Program.  This daily ritual only takes a couple of minutes.  (It takes longer for the computer to start up and open the online program.)  Riley says, "Food Gram!"  Mia says, "Foo Gram!"  (Food Program!)

I have to tell you what happened when I was laying on the floor for a minute this morning.  First, I rarely lay on the floor; primarily because they all pile on Gary and mayhem ensues!  :)  This morning Mia said, "Teeth teeth teeth!"  They like to look in my mouth at gold crowns (4) and a gold bridge!  So everyone is peering in there and Nora was behind my head looking in.  I couldn't see her very well and didn't notice she was about to sneeze!  Into my open mouth!  The fun never ends!  I did leap to my feet pretty fast for an old fella!  :)

Mia snuggled with Lauralea before anyone else came.  Then she played with the food toys, read some books, and played a lot with the dolls and blankets.  We did some coloring on coffee filters and then sprayed them with water to watch the colors run a bit.  Mia started squealing when I started spraying the pictures with water.  :)

12/18/2013

Mia ate most of her whole wheat toast and ate mixed berries for breakfast.  For lunch she ate ham, crackers, bean & bacon soup, and kiwi.

Riley was so funny to watch at the breakfast table.  She was totally mesmerized watching Mia eat the mixed berries and she couldn't quit watching the show!  Riley kept saying, "Oh oh, oh oh!"  And I'd say, "That's ok, it's basically how she eats!"  :)  The berry juice stains everything and Mia was leaving a trail everywhere; on her face, her bib, the table, etc.  And Riley was pointing to it all!  Mia didn't care; she was too busy eating!  :)

The temperature was so nice this morning and the kids had lots of fun outside!  The main activity was eating ice and what little snow they could find.  And Mia was also willingly eating some pieces that Nora was feeding her!  Silly kids!

They also tried to play with the sleds, but that was only causing them grief, so I eventually put the sleds away until we get some more snow.  Nora was pulling an empty sled around the yard, but Cooper and Mia couldn't resist trying to get a ride.  :)

Mia was covering her head with her blanket first thing this morning and then whipping it off and saying, "Boo!" to Cooper.  He thought she was being hilarious.  He has the cutest chuckle!  And the girls were playing their "run from Cooper" game again.  They were saying, "Here come Cooper; hide Cooper, hide Cooper!"  He was busy rolling around on the mattress with the big bears and didn't even notice what they were doing.  :)

12/17/2013

Mia ate whole wheat bagel and half of her dried apricots for breakfast.  For lunch she ate half of her chicken, and most of her elbow noodles topped with shredded cheese, most of her peas, and most of her applesauce.

Micala took this picture yesterday after nap time.  (Well, Riley was still sleeping, but these guys were awake!)  I'd been snuggling Mia and Nora and Cooper wanted up too.  Look at Nora's reaction.  Cooper climbs up and does some loving "forehead bumps" with me.

This is a picture of Mia doing some cleaning.  The yellow bottle is her 'squirt bottle' and then she vigorously scrubs with the cloth she's holding.  It's very cute and sometimes they'll clean the table, toys, window sill, walls, blocks, basically everything!  :)  Nora started the cleaning routine this morning.

Here's an incident that made Lauralea and I roar with laughter first thing this morning.  Cooper was inside the "Cooper Cave" we'd made with building blocks.  And the easiest way for him to get out was give the block "wall" a big shove.  It kind of landed on Nora and a little bit on Mia.  Mia wasn't going to cry until Nora started howling and that made Nora even more mad!  Nora stopped in the middle of her cry and yelled at Mia; "NO!!  MY OWIE!!"  :)

We read lots of special Christmas books this morning; I think I counted 14.  (Even Cooper sat for the entire reading.)  And Mia was still not satisfied! "More books, more books!"  Love it!!

Nora and Mia were sitting in the chair talking on their phones and reading books.  Mia was holding her phone up to Nora's ear and saying,  "Riley-Cooper!"  That's how Mia frequently says it; it's their hyphenated name!  :)

12/16/2013

Mia ate half of her breakfast: bran cereal and dried cranberries.  For lunch she ate half of cheese pizza, art corn, and tropical fruit.

This picture was taken Friday afternoon, but I thought I'd include it anyhow!  A doll shirt is what Mia has on her head and she's carrying her doll.  She tried pretty hard to get her head through that little hole!

This morning she was playing with the dolls again and was following Nora's lead and changing their baby's diapers.  Nora yelled, "Baby poop Gary, baby poop!"  Ok, change your babies.  Mia had her's standing on it's head.  :)

Cooper was trying hard to drive Nora and Mia nuts this morning and he was being fairly successful!  He was right in the middle of their play or trying to take their toys.  The girls were playing in the big box (the one in the picture above) and Cooper dove in head first (his usual approach).  He happened to land right on Nora and she was not impressed at all!  :)

Mia played with the dress-up clothes (especially the work boots), dolls and blankets, phone, sets of keys, singing time, story time, and decorating Christmas Tree ornaments at art time.  After art time she and Nora went to the big room and started doing "Row Row."

12/13/2013

Well I could tell by her eating this morning that she's not back to feeling 100% yet!  :)  For breakfast she had a few bites of malt-o-meal cereal and ate most of her raisins.  She ate maybe a third of her lunch; baked beans, dinner roll, peas, and pineapple.

I took this picture because all four kids were hanging out in the toy shelf.  Nora doesn't like to be in tight quarters like this and you can see in the picture she is leaving!  So I kept the picture even though Mia's eyes are closed.  :)   For Mommy and Daddy; just in case the vest doesn't look familiar that is some of the dress-up clothes Mia was playing with!

After Mommy dropped her off I asked Mia; Where do you puke at?  (And I'm thinking "bucket" would be a good answer!)  Mia said, "Mommy's house!!"  LOL!!  That's a way better answer than I was thinking of Mia!!  :)

Riley has the sweetest little heart!  Mia had crashed and Riley laughed pretty hard.  Then she realized that it must have hurt a little just by looking at Mia's face.  (She wasn't crying)  Riley quit laughing, went over and took off Mia's dress-up boot, pulled up her pant-leg and asked, "Right here?"  Mia said, "yes," and so Riley kissed her leg.  It was all so cute and sweet and Riley was totally sincere.

We got out some special Christmas books yesterday when Mia was sick and she read lots of those today.  She also played with the food toys and wrapped up her babies with Riley.  At art time we did some gluing of Christmas pictures I cut off old Christmas cards.  Mia hung in there for a few minutes, but soon became bored and said, "I wanna go play!"  :)

12/12/2013

Anyone searching for Mia's journal today; she is home sick!  Hopefully she'll be back tomorrow!  :)

12/11/2013

Mia ate three servings of biscuits and two servings of peaches for breakfast.  For lunch she ate ground beef with spaghetti sauce, most of her elbow noodles, ate lettuce salad, and fruit cocktail.

I'm including two pictures from the Santa encounter yesterday afternoon.  (Momma Darcy was here with us and it was fun to have one of the parents here.)  In this picture Riley and Mia are watching Santa put on the final pieces of the suit.

And then it was time to sit on Santa's lap.  I have several pictures I'll include on the disk I'm attempting to put together for Christmas.  Lauralea helped me video the kids singing 6 Christmas songs and it turned out real cute.

The girls were doing their running and "hiding" from Cooper again today.  It didn't faze him at all (totally ignored what they were doing) so the game evolved into the girls taking turns "hiding" in the igloo and the other two girls chanting the name of the one in the igloo.  Very cute.

There was one time this morning I was giving Mia instructions (redirecting her and she wasn't real thrilled about it) and she was looking at me like she didn't have a clue.  :)  So later I was doing an experiment!  (Just for kicks; I already know how much she understands language!)   It involved a two-step set of instructions and she nailed it!  :)

12/10/2013

Mia ate two servings of waffle and ate hash browns for breakfast.  For lunch she ate most of her beef & cheese quesadilla, ate carrots, and oranges.

Mia was following Riley's lead and playing with the tools.  (There's a hole in the corner of the yellow bench that the drill fits into.)  If Riley will get engaged with the toys, Mia will almost always do the same.

The kids decorated another big piece of paper at art time.  So we have our backdrop for pictures with Santa today.  I've been telling the kids that Santa is letting Lauralea use some of his clothes.  And she's going to let them watch her put them on, so we'll see how that all goes.  That will be this afternoon about 4:00.

The girls were soooo funny this morning running and "hiding" from Cooper!  They were running around the table and saying, "Hide hide hide; Cooper Cooper Bubba Cooper!"  He was sitting on the mattress laughing and watching them.  Then later they were doing it again, but this time going in the igloo saying the same thing!  Except now he was playing under the climber and not even aware they were running from him.  :)

Riley and Mia were also building tall towers with all of the building blocks.  And they were proud of what they'd accomplished.  "Look Gary, Look!"  And they were also playing with the dress-up clothes again and saying "bye!"  Mia said they were going to "Riley's farm!"

Monday, December 9, 2013

12/9/2013

Mia ate most of her cheerios and bites of banana for breakfast.  For lunch she had bites of cheese sandwich, drank tomato soup, and ate apple pieces.

Santa Claus is going to be here tomorrow afternoon about 4:00 and we decorated some blue paper to have in the background for Santa pictures.  And tomorrow's art work will be more of the same.  :)  You can see they covered the paper pretty well with the stickers.  I'd sometimes point to empty spots.

We did a toy, book, and puzzle exchange and Mia looked at the books before anything else.  She also played with the shakers, phones, cups, dolls and blankets.

I thought you might get a kick out of this picture of Cooper diving in the Big Box.  Notice that Mia is watching his performance.  The Big Box is a place for the "older" kids to play without the babies bugging them.  This picture proves that no place is safe from Cooper anymore!  How do you like his approach?  And it happens REALLY fast!  So I decided to "bait" the box with those yellow shakers you can see and I had the camera ready.  :)

I guess I frequently call Cooper "Cooper Boy!"  Mia said, "Hi Cooper Boy!"  Then it was; "Hi Gary Boy!"  It was very cute and made us laugh!

12/6/2013

Mia ate oatmeal and two servings of dried cranberries for breakfast.  For lunch she ate everything: ground beef, elbow noodles topped with shredded cheese, peas, and applesauce.

I taped some tubes on the legos table (Jamie's idea) and the kids liked doing something different; dropping the pieces through!  It's nap time and the tubes are still in place!  I didn't expect them to last for one hour!

All three of the girls found a new place for their puppies to take a nap.  This was Riley's idea and Mia and Nora picked right up on it.  They started saying "puppy night night!"  When they grew tired of that game they were grabbing each other's hands through the hole.

The primary game this morning was "Bye bye Gary!"  They were sitting on the blocks we'd built in a long line and traveling somewhere.  And with their dress-up shoes on!  Then Nora was also laying on the floor asking Mia to help her up.  So Mia wrapped her arms around Nora and got her up and that evolved into a hugging session.  It was so cute and sweet.  And something of a rarity between those two girls!  With the goodbye hugs being the exception.  :)

The iPod has at least 350 children's songs on it and an additional few that are just fast tempo.  One this morning was going "You gotta move it, move it, You gotta move it.."  Not sure, but I think it's from an exercise tape; anyhow Mia yells, "Move It!"  :)

Thursday, December 5, 2013

12/5/2013

Mia ate two servings of raisin english muffin and ate blueberries for breakfast.  For lunch she ate turkey sandwich, green beans, and kiwi.

Darcy, I know you were concerned this morning about what kind of day Mia was going to have.  She actually had a good morning; much better than yesterday!  She didn't act too tired, but around 10:00 she had some struggles getting a big poop out and after that she was a happy camper.  Sorry Mia to discuss your pooping in a public forum!  :)  Such are the indignities in the life of a two year old!

She and Riley were doing some wrestling on the mattress and it was so stinking cute!  They rolled and wrestled around for probably ten minutes and giggling the whole time.  When we had our Group Home (12 kids) we really couldn't let them wrestle too much because it always escalated out of control.  But with 4 kids it's different.  And there's no adult supervision now!  Hee hee!  Don't tell anyone!

Mia also did lots of jumping on the mattress.  She participated in lots of singing, dancing, and story time.  I've mentioned this before, but I'll frequently let them finish the last word or two in a sentence to see how much they know the book and it keeps them engaged too.  She could do lots of the words in "Frosty the Snowman."

Mia was sitting in the chair and Nora got hurt and started crying.  Mia jumped right out of the chair and went over to give her a love.  It was very sweet.  (Nora was more mad than hurt and she didn't want Mia to touch her, but it was still a sweet gesture.)  Good job Mia.

Wednesday, December 4, 2013

12/4/2013

Mia ate half of her jelly toast and ate dried mangoes for breakfast.  For lunch she ate bean & beef burrito, two servings of sweet potatoes, and ate tropical fruit.

We covered the table with paper and put paint shirts on the kids and they had fun painting.  So I thought you'd enjoy a picture of everyone at the table.  (This was Cooper's first time with this activity and he did great.)

Mia read lots of books this morning and then she and Riley were sitting side-by-side reading and it transitioned into a kind of "chanting."  :)  Mia was mimicking everything Riley said and did.

Mia was yelling because Cooper was crawling into the chair where she was reading and pestering her.  So I moved him to the big box and got him distracted in playing with something else.  Within two minutes Mia had moved into the box with him and within another minute was yelling at him again.  Geez!  Perfect example of Infant-Toddler behavior and logic; or lack thereof!  :)

Mia wanted to snuggle a lot this morning so Lauralea was snuggling her while I was finishing up the food for the day.  Lauralea asked her, "Do you like Gary?"  Mia said, "Yeah!  And Lauralea like Gary!"  :)

Before anyone else arrived this morning Mia was reading books and she was asking herself; "One more time?"  Then answer; "Yeah!"  Next book; "Read again?"  Answer; "Yeah!"  Very cute!  :)  She was just checking to see if she really wanted to read them twice!

Tuesday, December 3, 2013

12/3/2013

Mia had two servings of breakfast: cinnamon roll and dried plums.  For lunch she ate half of her scrambled eggs, hash browns, bacon bits, and cheese combo, ate waffle, and most of her cantaloupe.

Lauralea was reading a book she'd brought home about a Christmas Bear.  The kids were loving it and especially the part where Lauralea was pretending to cry.  :)  Mia was mimicking the crying and then mimicking the "Shhhh" sound.

The three girls were doing their "Hide hide hide!" thing again and this (picture) is where they were "hiding" from Cooper.  He'd been pulling Nora and Mia's hair so I had him blockaded on the other side of the room.  Which made their "hiding" a bit easier.  :)

Mia played her "Bye!" game again this morning.  This has been one of her (and all three girls) favorite games lately.  They put on dress-up clothes, or just shoes, and start waving and saying, "Bye!"  I love this age when they start doing all kinds of different 'dramatic' play; reenacting different scenarios they see in their daily lives.

Lauralea said, "I have to go fix me some breakfast!"  Riley said, "With you!  Some cheese?"  :)  So Lauralea and Riley brought some cheese out and all four kids lined up like little birdies getting their bites.  Another one of Mia's favorite activities!!  :)

Monday, December 2, 2013

12/2/2013

Mia ate most of her breakfast:  Kix cereal and mixed fruit.  For lunch she ate ham sandwich, peas, and three servings of mandarin oranges.

Lauralea was sitting in her chair and Riley wanted Lauralea to hold her like a baby and she was all curled up.  :)  The other two girls saw that and wanted a turn so here's a picture when Mia was getting a turn snuggling.  (I had just stole Mia's binky to take this picture and that's what she's looking for!)

Here's a picture of Mia and Nora playing with the airplanes.  They like filling them up with the little people.  (Which fit pretty tight and they usually ask for assistance!)  They also played with the food toys at the table while Cooper was being the "center-piece" and pestering them!

I took a picture so you could see our routine when Cooper wakes up!  The girls run ahead of me and call out his name while peeking under the door.  :)  They've been doing this for a long time, I just never thought about showing you a picture.

All three girls were yelling "Hide hide!" and running for the igloo.  Cooper wasn't even bugging them at that moment, but I guess they were hiding from him.  Then Riley was building tall towers and stacking more blocks around the base of her two towers.  She was wanting me to protect her towers from Mia and Cooper.  (Mia managed to slip through the blockade once and knock one over.)  Riley yelled, "Help me Gary!"  :)

11/27/2013

Just an FYI for everyone - Mia is not at Daycare today and the Daycare is closed Thursday and Friday for Thanksgiving.  Her next Journal Post should be on Monday, December 2nd.
Happy Thanksgiving everyone and remember to be Thankful!  :)

Tuesday, November 26, 2013

11/26/2013

Mia ate two servings of waffles and ate pears for breakfast.  For lunch she ate tuna and crackers, two servings of sweet potatoes, and two servings of oranges.

Riley was using the 'shape' pieces and that was her "cake."  She kept saying, "Mia, cake!" until Mia joined her at the table.  Then Mia said, "I done!" and handed it back to Riley.  As you can see in the picture Cooper was basically the center piece on the table.  :)

Nora and Mia were on the floor sitting back-to-back putting on dress-up shoes.  Nora said, "Help me Mia!"  And Mia tried to hold the shoe so Nora could put her foot inside.  Except Mia was a tad impatient and just about the time Nora started putting her foot in, Mia stuck her own hand in there!  Silly kids!  :)

Mia was watching Jamie try to get Cooper to throw his arms in the air when she said, "Touchdown!"  They've been practicing at home and during the Grizzly games.  After Jamie left this morning Mia was throwing her arms up in the air and saying, "Touchdown!"  She said, "Cooper do that!"

We did some dot painting at art time.  The three girls were done and I was letting Cooper continue to experiment with the dot paints a little.  I also had an ear toward the daycare room and it was very quiet. They were all "hiding" in the igloo from Cooper; and Riley and Mia were saying, "Hide hide hide" and then running and "hiding" behind the Panda bear too.  Cooper, of course, thought the whole thing was hilarious and was running along behind them and everyone was happy!  :)

I have this little laptop that I use exclusively for the Food Program.  (I get reimbursed a small amount for each meal I serve the children.)  The web site monitors our menus and daily attendance.  It takes two or three minutes a day to enter the information and I usually do it right before snack time.  Yesterday when Mia saw me coming with the laptop she yells, "Food Program!"  :)

Monday, November 25, 2013

11/25/2013

Mia ate chex cereal and two servings of mixed fruit for breakfast.  She was copying what Riley was saying at breakfast; "I done Gary!" Except Mia said it as she was taking another bite.  And she ate another serving of fruit after that!  :)  Silly girl!  For lunch she ate roast beef sandwich, two servings of tomato soup, and ate apple slices.

Well I got a new Panda bear this weekend so I had to take a picture of everyone with it.  The girls pointed out the Panda bear on the poster too - just to the right of Mia and the bear!  As you know, Mia loves Panda bears and she was beside herself with excitement for quite awhile this morning.  She'd play with the toys then going racing over to the bear!  :)

We did a toy, book, and puzzle exchange this weekend and Mia explored everything.  She was trying to put on dress-up clothes and she had both feet stuck in the arm hole of this shirt.  She was saying, "Help me Gary!"  Quit taking the picture and help me!  And I did!  :)

Riley was being such a nice friend to Mia this morning.  Mia was sitting on her lap and then 'leading' some action songs!  (The actions to "Hickity Pickity" were easily recognizable.)  Riley was going along with it all and had this cutest amused look on her face.  I think she finds Mia quite interesting and entertaining.  Sometimes (including this morning at breakfast) Riley forgets to eat while watching Mia!

We sang songs, read lots of books, and then as soon as I turned on some music the girls started clearing toys away from the 'dance floor.'  Before anyone else arrived Mia had some toys all neatly lined up - cars and then the plates on the table.  I don't think I've seen her do that before.

Friday, November 22, 2013

11/22/2013

Mia ate oatmeal and dried plums for breakfast.  For lunch she ate hash brown casserole, biscuit, and mandarin oranges.

I swear Cooper and Mia are two peas from the same pod!  We can build with the blocks and those two can hardly wait to get the green light to rip it all apart!  Riley and Nora will move on to something else and these two go nuts!  This morning Cooper was standing on his head like this several different times while they were in the middle of their demolition projects!

Cooper and Mia were at the window watching the crows in the yard and in the street.  Most of them flew away by the time I got the camera ready, but you can see one in the street.  The kids were also looking at one over to the right that was out of the picture.

Mia was snuggling with Lauralea this morning while I was finishing the meals for today and Lauralea was singing to her.  Mia had this dreamy look on her face and kept saying, "Sing more song!"

Mia was sitting on the chair when Nora was telling her Daddy bye and she pointed to the window as if to say to Nora; "Ok, go to the window now and wave bye to him!"  (The same routine every morning.)

She was also looking through these little viewfinder toys (whatever they are called) and identifying most of the animals.  Except she was calling the squirrel a "horsey!"  :)  It was a close-up picture and there was no way of her getting a 'size perspective.'  Anyhow, that made me laugh!  I told that putting a saddle on a squirrel would never work!

Thursday, November 21, 2013

11/21/2013

Mia ate two servings of breakfast: french bread and cantaloupe.  For lunch she ate turkey slices, crescent roll, green beans, and three servings of dried mangoes.

Nora and Mia were playing "Row Row" and having a blast!  There's nothing better in the world than kids laughing and having fun!

I'd just announced, "Ok everybody, help me find Cooper's binky!" And this is what it looked like!  It always makes me laugh because all three look in the exact same spot. Uhhh, we could spread out a little and cover the whole room! Riley found the binky a few minutes later laying in the middle of the room!

Mia and Nora were playing by the color chart and this time Mia was the "teacher."  She was saying, "Show me red!"  (While doing the sign for red.)  Nora showed her.  (Attention to detail is her strength.)  I was enjoying watching this for several reasons.  Primarily because Mia doesn't know her colors yet, but her strength is her language skills.  She easily gave great instructions, but couldn't "show me red" when I asked.  (Pointed to purple.)   :)

Speaking of language skills; Mia invited Nora to join her in play several times this morning.  Mia was the one who initiated "Row Row" and then wanted Nora to help her build a "Cooper cave, Cooper cave!"  (Riley started calling it that and Mia picked right up on it.)  Then Mia was sitting on my lap saying, "Walk walk…"  It's a 'walk walk, trot trot, gallop gallop" game we do.

Wednesday, November 20, 2013

11/20/2013

Mia ate two servings of whole wheat toast and ate mixed berries for breakfast.  Riley was having a hard time eating breakfast because she was too busy watching Mia eat her berries!  "Oh oh, oh oh!"  It's ok Riley - it will all wash off!  :)  It is quite impressive with that berry juice all around her mouth!  For lunch Mia ate half of her ham, ate crackers, bean & bacon soup, and kiwi.

Mia was exploring under the legos table where Cooper likes to hang out.  This picture makes it look like she was "resting," but she's actually just crawling through!  (With her doll and doll blanket.)  Shortly after this picture was taken Cooper was climbing through the legos table, but Mia was already under the end of the table when he arrived.  (Right where she's at in the picture.)  And there is only room for one person in there!  Geez, the table just about came up off the floor with those two trying to get out at the same time!  :)

Mia (and Nora too) still accompanies Riley to the potty each time she goes.  Mia sat on the toilet yesterday and this morning, but so far nothing has happened.  :)  But she sat there for a minute both times, which I think is progress; before it up there and instantly "I'm done!"

Mia and Mommy were having a major discussion on the phone this morning!  She had her phone and said, "Hi Momma; Hi Darcy!"  (Which cracked me up!)  "Jabber jabber jabber, Momma, jabber jabber.."  And on it went!  :)

We sang songs, built a 'sidewalk' with the blocks, did painting at art, and read lots of books.  She painted for a few minutes and as soon as she started to get bored with it she began 'massaging' the foam brush she was using.  Ok, you're done!  :)

Tuesday, November 19, 2013

11/19/2013

Mia ate two servings of whole wheat bagel and ate dried apricots for breakfast.  For lunch she ate chicken, two servings of elbow noodles topped with shredded cheese, ate peas, and applesauce.

Before anyone else arrived Mia was playing with the building blocks.  I thought she did good getting these all stacked up!  And Cooper wasn't around to push them over.

Riley and Nora seemed to find Mia entertaining at the lunch table.  The meal was a bit messy and Mia had a mixture of applesauce, noodles, and shredded cheese on her face.  I said to Riley; "Look at Mias' mouth!"  Well Mia had her own interpretation of that statement and promptly opened her mouth for all to see.  :)  (And of course there was food in her mouth!)  Riley started laughing and Nora followed.  (They both sit across the table from Mia.)  It was quite hilarious!  :)

Mia will just randomly say, "Hi Cooper!"  (She does that to the other kids and myself as well.)  Anyhow, this morning she said, "Hi Cooper!" and burped at the same time.  It was quite impressive.  Don't let that girl get away Cooper; I think she's a "Keeper!"  :)

I love Mia's language and how it's developing!  Here's an example from this morning; The neighbor girl has two friends that walk to her house each morning and the three of them walk on to school together.  We frequently watch them and today Mia saw them coming.  She said, "Here come the friends!"  :)

Lauralea was reading a book to Mia this morning.  And it said something about a "frown."  Lauralea said, "Show me a frown!"  Mia jumped down and headed to the color chart to find the color "brown!"  That made me laugh!  I always use that phrase when we practice the color signs!  I do the sign, point at the chart, and then say, "Show me the …."

11/18/2013

Mia ate bran cereal and most of her dried cranberries for breakfast.  For lunch she ate most of her cheese pizza, ate corn, and tropical fruit.

I thought this was soooo cute!!  The three girls were discussing colors and Nora was pointing to them.  She looks like the little teacher with her students.  :)  And Riley and Mia are both intently watching and listening.  Love this picture!

Mia was playing peek-a-boo with Cooper.  She was still in the lunch room after breakfast and he was peeking through the gate.  He'd whirl around and dive on the mattress and she'd run across the room over by the dryer where he couldn't see her.  They were laughing and having so much fun.

Mia was sure proud of her painted nails.  I don't know how many times this morning she had to show me her nails.  "Look, my nails!"  Every time I'd say, "That was nice of Daddy!"  And every time she'd say, "Mommy do it!"  :)

Mia is almost always the first one here in the morning and we frequently spend several minutes snuggling and talking in the big chair.  Not today; by 8:15 it looked like a mini cyclone went through the daycare room.  :)  She had stuff scattered everywhere and she unloaded all the books from the bookrack into the big box.  Then she climbed in there and sat on the pile of books and started reading.

Mia crawled under the climber and got her head stuck under one of the yellow pieces.  She put her head in "sideways," and then turned her head "face-down" and tried to pull back out.  "Stuck!"  And instant panic and yelling!  I helped her and then she was pointing at it and explaining to Riley what had just happened!  :)

11/15/2013

Mia ate half of her malt-o-meal cereal and ate raisins for breakfast.  For lunch she ate ground beef with spaghetti sauce, two servings of elbow noodles topped with shredded cheese, lettuce salad, and three servings of mixed fruit.

I was cleaning up after breakfast and the girls were being so quiet!  Kind of scary, right?  :)  This is how they were playing when I peeked in on them.  How cute is this?  There are several cell phones, but they were focused on the one Nora is playing with.  If you look close, you will see they have my three pillows; two on the yellow bench and Nora is sitting on one.  Doesn't this picture makes Mia look so much bigger than Riley?  It's more the way they are sitting and her being closer to the camera.  She is bigger than Riley, but they are fairly close to the same height.  I have to remind myself that Mia is the youngest of these three girls.

Nora and Mia were sitting on the yellow bench while Riley was leading them in some songs we've been practicing for a short Christmas video.  Riley said, "Ho ho" (and doing the motions to "Where is Santa") and Mia says, "Merry Christmas!"  They are getting it!  It was super cute!  However, there are no guarantees anyone will cooperate when we actually try to video!  :)  Later, when we were singing, Mia acted like she'd never heard the songs!  :)

This morning before Lauralea left Mia was sitting on the arm of the chair and Lauralea was in the chair. Mia sneezed and I asked, "Did you sneeze all over?!"  Mia said, "No! On Lauralea!"  (True statement!) And then she points to a spot on Lauralea's face!  Oh my goodness, I laughed so hard I forgot to have her say "excuse me" or "sorry" to Lauraela!  :)

11/14/2013

Mia ate most of her raisin english muffin and ate blueberries for breakfast.  For lunch she ate chicken, crackers, sweet potatoes, and three servings of canned cherries.  I'm thinking she may have the blowout after she leaves daycare!  :)  Riley was watching Mia dip her cracker in cherry juice at lunch.  "Oh oh, Oh oh!"  :)

Also at lunch time; Nora somehow slipped off the table bench and landed on her butt and somewhat on her back.  I'm sure I was holding my breath because that's not a soft landing.  She got up, looked at Mia and Riley and started laughing!  Soon they were all laughing like it was the funniest thing ever!  :)

This picture was taken yesterday afternoon and the kids were having a blast on the slides.  They were sitting on the bottom of the slide and waiting for the next person to arrive.  Over and over again.  After Riley got tired of this game Mia and Nora kept right on playing for several more minutes.

We were playing with some paper towel tubes and using them for microphones.  Riley started using them as a telescope and Mia joined her!

We watched some crows in the yard again, the kids colored on some coffee filters and we sprayed water on the finished picture, and they had fun jumping and running on the mattress.  Mia was mimicking everything Riley was doing and they were spinning and darting around like a couple of crazy girls.  Then Mia and Nora were taking turns sitting on Riley's lap.

11/13/2013

Mia ate two servings of biscuits and ate peaches for breakfast.  For lunch she ate baked beans, bites of dinner roll, ate peas, and pineapple.

The title of this picture is "Hello Momma!"  That's what she always says when she grabs a phone.  She also played with the fanny packs and carried her phone in there too.

Mia went over to visit with Cooper and this is how they greet each other.  He loves Mia and she loves him too!  She's always doing something to entertain him and he loves it!

Before breakfast Mia handed Cooper her binky.  I don't know what she was expecting, but she wasn't thrilled when he grabbed it, stuck it in his mouth, and ran in the opposite direction!  :)  Shortly after that she handed her binky to Lauralea to put in her cubby and was mumbling something about Cooper!

Mia was sitting beside Riley on the step in front of the window and Riley was bent over she was coughing so hard.  Mia mimicked her and bent way over doing some fake coughing.  :)  Mia was also alerting me to Riley's runny nose.  "Riley nose Gary, Riley nose!!"

We sang songs, read stories, did golf ball painting, some sign language, and watched some crows (about a dozen) that landed in the road and driveway outside the big window.

11/12/2013

Mia ate two servings of waffle and ate hash browns for breakfast.  So here's what happened after you left her at lunch time Darcy.  She had a hard time calming down and so she relaxed in the big green chair (not crying at all) and twice I told her could join us when she was ready.  She ended up not wanting to eat and she went right to sleep at nap time.  So I just wrapped her plate of food and I'll offer it to her at snack time when she wakes up.  (Rather than just a snack.)

I just wanted to mention something about food serving size.  If you google serving sizes for Toddlers you can get different recommended or required servings sizes.  And then the Federal Food Program (which I participate in) has it's required serving sizes.  They range everywhere from a Tablespoon for every 1 year of age to quarter cups, etc… My servings sizes tend to be a little larger, so if I say they ate half a serving, they are getting plenty of food.

Speaking of food, I asked Mia this morning, "What's your favorite food?"  Her answer; "Dinner!"  Which made me laugh of course.  I also chose not to be offended considering Dinner is the only meal I don't fix for her Monday - Friday!  :)

Here's another picture of the girls reading.  Riley was reading to them and just 'flying' through the books.  (There's a pile of discarded books at her feet that I should have included in the picture.)  She'd open the book, "mumble mumble mumble," toss the book on the floor, ask the other two, "want another book?" and sit there while one of them fetched another book.  And that repeated itself several times.  Very cute.

I laughed yesterday after nap time when Lauralea came out to the daycare room with us.  She'd been downstairs working on filing papers on her day off.  Mia, having just woke from her nap, assumed Lauralea had been napping too!  She saw Lauralea and said, "You wake up Lauralea!?!"  :)

Mia was kind of whining this morning saying, "Want phone, want phone…"  She was literally standing between two phones.  One was on the floor and one was on the table.  So I was thinking how totally aware they are at times and other times so oblivious!  Later….I'm standing in the lunch room looking for my notes and aloud I say, "Where are they!?"  They happened to be right at my elbow!  And the first thought I had was of Mia and the phones!  :)

11/11/2013

Mia ate cheerios and banana for breakfast.  For lunch she ate cheese sandwich, drank tomato soup, and ate apple pieces.

We did a toy, book, and puzzle exchange this weekend and Mia had fun with all the new stuff.  Here's a picture of her putting on some dress-up clothes.  It's a full-length lion suit, but she never leaves them on for more than a few seconds so I just helped her get her arms in.  And, sure enough, it came off as soon as she got this shoe on!  :)  Our busy little Mia girl!

The kid's journals are going to be a bit shorter today from a lack of notes and here's the story: Last night the ignition key broke off in the ignition of our car in the Costco parking lot.  So I had to meet the tow truck out there this morning and go to the Nissan dealership.  So we were glad Lauralea doesn't have to work today and she could cover for me.  But I did not get nearly as many notes as usual to write about the kids.

I (we) enjoyed meeting several more members of Mia's family at the birthday party.  It's always so special to meet the family of our daycare kids!  Also, everyone expressed so much appreciation of Mia's daily blog.  It makes it feel so worthwhile and I love that her family can get a little glimpse of Mia's life here at daycare!

As usual she was very busy this morning and also followed Riley around frequently mimicking lots of Riley's play.  That's how they learn; observing and then experimenting!

11/8/2013

Mia ate oatmeal and dried cranberries for breakfast.  For lunch she ate ground beef, elbow noodles, peas, and applesauce.

The kids are always very intrigued with me flossing my teeth after our meals.  So I gave them each a piece of floss and grabbed the camera.  :)  Everything is a photo-opportunity!  Riley saw me grab the camera and she wanted no part of it.  Little skunk!

All three girls were in the box and Cooper started pitching toys and books into the box and they were slinging them back out.  It was a game for Cooper and Mia and Riley found it quite humorous; Nora not so much!  :)

Mia started doing the "Cooper Cave!" thing again.  I think it's interesting how they'll do something like that and it lasts for a day or two, maybe more, and then it's forgotten and never played again.

We played outside this morning and they ran around the yard pushing the dump trucks and picking up leaves.  They also drummed on the sand table and ran up and down the fence with the neighbor's dog.

We were at the window watching our neighbor Big Willy stand outside watching his wife rake leaves.  So I had to step to the door and ask him if she was doing it right!  :)

11/7/2013

Mia ate raisin english muffin and blueberries for breakfast.  For lunch she ate the meat from the turkey sandwich (and bites of bread), ate green beans, and kiwi.

Mia was watching Cooper play with the blocks and I liked how she had her hands on her hips.  By the time I got the camera she was no longer doing it.  So I asked her if she'd do it again and she did!  :)  And this is pretty much how it looked!  Thank you Mia!

Riley has been such a good friend to Mia and Mia totally loves her!  Riley lets Mia join her in most of her activities.  This morning Riley decided to play with the building blocks again and said, "Cooper cave!"  (That's the code phrase now when she wants to build!)  Mia starts yelling, "Cooper cave, Cooper cave!!"  Then I took this picture of them in the big chair with their babies.  A couple minutes after I took this picture Mia put her arm around Riley's head.  Riley moved Mia's arm and looked at her as if to say; "No, that's too much; don't push your luck!"  :)

During story time we were reading "Ten Little Speckled Frogs" and one of the repeating lines on every page goes like this, "sitting on a speckled log eating the most delicious lunch, Yum Yum."  I was pausing when I got to the "yum yum" part and letting them 'fill in the blank.'  Pretty soon they (all three girls) were anticipating it and trying to see who could say it first and the loudest; "YUM YUM!!"  And they were 'jumping the gun' before I even paused!  :)

Mia was playing with the dolls again and had her baby wrapped up and put it to bed.  This time the "bed" was in the big box.  Then she was playing over by the sinks.  All of a sudden she runs over to the big box, leans over to her baby and said, "Baby! Shhhhh Baby!!"  And goes back to work at the sink!  Oh man, I laughed!  It was soooo cute and funny!  Geez, I wonder if she's heard that before?!  I know she has here!!

11/6/2013

Mia ate half of her whole wheat toast and ate dried mangoes for breakfast.  For lunch she ate beef & bean burrito, ate sweet potatoes, and two servings of tropical fruit.

Yesterday and today they've been using these toys shelves for their beds.  First thing this morning Nora comes in and says, "Ah night night!"  And started clearing off the toys for them to sleep.  I call it their bunk beds.  (Cooper was trying to put the toys back on the shelf as fast as Nora could remove them!  And Nora was yelling "Bubba, Bubba!")

Nora read books with Mia and played with the food toys.  Mia was sitting by a pile of books and when Nora walked by Mia said, "Sit down? Sit down?"  And it was a question rather than a demand!  They also played with their "babies" and were bringing them to me to kiss "night night."  At first I wasn't sure what they wanted because Nora was just doing a kissing sound, but Mia knew and said, "Kiss night night?"  :)

Riley initiated food play with Mia and was offering Mia "bites" of her cake.  Well Mia was all over that!  Mia immediately started saying things like; "Eat Riley cake!  Hi Riley, hi Riley!  "Bite Riley, bite!"  (This was all happening on the floor.)  Riley finally moved her cake to the table and Mia followed with her own cake pieces and continued begging Riley for more!   Riley finally had enough, pointed at Mia's cake pieces, and said; "Right there!!"  It was all quite entertaining!  :)

I am frequently 'drumming' on something; usually with my pen.  Lauralea says that I do it all the time!!  Which I'm sure is an exaggeration!  :)  Well, this morning Mia had the ice cream scoop and was drumming; going from the changing table to the sinks, toy shelves, table, and anything she could find!  Lauralea will find that highly entertaining when I tell her about Mia drumming!

11/5/2013

Mia ate two servings of cinnamon roll and ate dried plums for breakfast.  For lunch she ate the scrambled eggs, hash brown, ham combo, ate her waffle, and cantaloupe.

Mia was watching Cooper eat, saw the mess he was making and said; "Oh Oh!"  Now this coming from Little Miss Dainty herself!  That's a classic case of the Pot calling the Kettle black!!  At meal times they look like twins that graduated from the same school of Fine Eating Etiquette!   :)

Mia had a spoon and ice cream cone and was "feeding" everyone again.  Cooper decided he would give it a try and Mia decided it wasn't nearly as much fun when he kept poking the spoon in the general direction of her mouth.  :)

Cooper was sitting in the igloo and Mia and Riley were going to the entrance yelling, "Boo!"  And of course he was loving it, sitting in there giggling.  Then Cooper was pestering Mia and she whined at him.  He reached up, took her binky, whirled around and left!  :)  But I think she still loves him!

Riley was sitting on Lauralea's lap this morning and Lauralea was playing a game with her that we do; bouncing the child up and down and starting off with "walk walk walk"... increase bouncing intensity... "trot trot trot"… increase bouncing intensity… "gallop gallop gallop!"  It was about 11:00 - three hours later - and Mia was on the chair with a doll on her lap doing the same thing; "walk walk walk…trot trot trot"  That was soooo cute.  She'd been intently watching the whole thing this morning.  I love it when they start talking and you can hear what is going through their heads!  :)

11/4/2013

Mia ate kix cereal and half of her mixed fruit for breakfast.  For lunch she ate ham sandwich, peas, and two servings of mandarin oranges.

This is just a picture of all four kids playing in the same area with the same toys.  Nora was stacking them, Mia was walking across them, and Riley was keeping an eye on Cooper!

Mia was sitting on the floor being silly with her legs and arms.  She was trying to get Riley to watch her and said, "Look Riley!"  Riley wasn't too impressed so Mia moved on to Cooper; "Look Cooper!  Look!"  And Cooper started laughing at her!  :)  That was the desired response!!

We were getting ready for story time and the big chair was LOADED with toys.  I was moving them and I asked, "I wonder who did this?"  Riley gave her standard answer; "Mia!"  I guess Riley knows that's usually a safe bet.  :)

Mia was identifying animals this morning and I had to show her a Hippopotamus of course!  She always gives it a good try!  "Hippo-pot-is!"  Good job Mia!  Love her language skills!

She was into "feeding" everyone this morning, using a spoon and dipping the spoon into her ice cream cone.  Everyone was cooperating with her too!  Nora was even doing the "Thank You" sign after every bite.  All things considered; time change, Monday morning, etc… it was an awesome morning!  :)

Friday, November 1, 2013

11/1/2013

Mia ate brown rice and raisins for breakfast.  For lunch she ate meatloaf, half of her french bread, ate carrots, and dried apricots.

Mia and Riley joined Nora and it's not too often that the three girls are dancing together side-by-side like this in front of a mirror.  Cooper was already hanging out there dancing with Nora!  :)   I just noticed in the picture Mia's pants are hanging pretty low in the back!  Sorry!  I pulled them up several times this morning, but a photo opportunity happens very quickly around here!  :)

Another reminder: Mia will need diapers on Monday.

This was one of those "you had to be there and see it to appreciate it," but here's what it looked like:  Mia had a doll blanket and Cooper was grabbing it out of her hands.  Between Cooper and Mia, on the floor, was Nora laying with her doll "baby."  (You already know how this is going to end!?)  Cooper grabs the blanket, Mia jerks back even stronger, and launches Cooper forward, and he trips over and lands on Nora.  And from there everything went downhill!  :)  It was a rough sequence of events for all involved!

Mia was going to crawl under the table and this time she decided to go between the table top and the bench.  (There is plenty of room, but she would need to turn her head a bit sideways.)  Anyhow, she kind of got hung-up and she was sure she was "caught!"  She yelled "stuck!" a couple of times and panicked a little.  That table almost got up and took off running!  :)  When she got out she looked at me like; "Whewww! That was close!!"

First thing this morning she was watching Lauralea fold her clothes and she asked, "Is that queen?!" (Clean!)  Very cute!  :)

Nora was waving and saying, "Bye, bye, bye…!"  I asked, "Where are you going?"  Nora jabbered and then Mia gave her interpretation!  "Mommy, Daddy, Cooper!"  I said, "Well, thank you Mia; except that is Who, not Where!"  :)

Thursday, October 31, 2013

10/31/2013

Mia ate two servings of cinnamon toast and ate grapes for breakfast.  For lunch she ate baked chicken, most of her dinner roll, ate hash browns, and canned cherries.

Lauralea was going to work as a "painter" today.  She had paint splotches on her pants, shirt, and cap.  None of the kids wanted Lauralea to hold them!  :)  Mia didn't really care very much until she saw Nora and Riley staying back.  Riley is usually Lauralea's snuggle bug in the morning.  She was on Lauralea's lap once this morning and arched her back and immediately said, "I want down!"  :)  And Nora had a look on her face that said, "How could you be so messy!?!"  Mia was kind of like; "Whatever!"

Mia has been a good helper with picking up toys before we go outside.  She puts the books in the book rack, toys on the shelves, and also helps pick up outside too.  She is also good at pointing to show me where I am supposed to put the toys!  :)  Whenever the kids put the books away they only use about one-third of the book rack.  The books are usually three and four deep!

Oh Yes!  An FYI for Darcy and Matt: Mia will needs diapers by Monday.  She has enough to last through tomorrow.  Also I forgot to mention that I have a doctor appointment this afternoon at 3:00 and Lauralea is able to cover for me.  (Nothing serious!)  :)

We did some finger painting today and Cooper even joined us for that; Nora was chanting, "Oh oh!  Oh oh!"  :)  Mia also played with the food toys, read lots of books, and played with the dress-up clothes.  She had on some boots, an armload of toys, and was heading somewhere saying, "Bye bye, bye bye!"  She played with the dolls a lot too and was feeding them with the ice cream cone again and in the same chair as the picture from yesterday.

Wednesday, October 30, 2013

10/30/2013

Mia ate half of her whole wheat bagel and ate peaches for breakfast.  For lunch she ate half of her ham, ate mac-n-cheese, lettuce salad, and corn.

Here's a picture of Mia eating some ice cream.  These are the tops to all the cones.  But they like to take them off the cones and stack them up like you see in the picture.  And even Cooper does it too!

Now this picture makes me laugh!  Mia was snuggling her baby with the blanket you see on the chair.  Then she started feeding it and I love what she's using for a bottle.  An ice cream cone!  Perfect!  My kind of mommy!  :)  And covering the baby's face with it!  I love how she's holding her baby with her left hand tucked under it.  Perfect form!  :)

Then later she was looking at a book about dinosaurs and she had the ice cream cone again and was feeding it to a dinosaur.  I asked her, "Are you feeding dinosaurs?"  Her answer, "Ducky!!"  Upon closer examination I saw the dinosaur she was feeding had wings!  So the "ducky" answer made perfect sense!!  :)

Riley was working on Mia's hair and making a ponytail in the back.  And calling Mia "baby."  Then Riley started calling her "puppy" and that was fun until the puppy started getting unruly!  :)

Yesterday after art time Mia started cleaning all the scrap paper off the table and putting it in the garbage can for me.  And without me asking her to.  Good job Mia!  I was impressed!

Tuesday, October 29, 2013

10/29/2013

Mia ate two servings of breakfast: blueberry waffle and pears.  For lunch she ate tuna, crackers, sweet potatoes, and oranges.

I had to take a picture of the kids busy at art time.  I cut up some orange and black paper using the paper cutter.  (Nora stayed and watched this time.)  We glued pieces of paper (I put dots of glue on their paper) and also put on halloween and pumpkin stickers.  I gave all three girls a sticker and said, "I'm going to take your picture so wait until I tell you to put them down."  They did very well!

Nora and Mia were playing their "Night Night" game and covering each other up with blankets again.  Riley joined them two or three times and then wandered off to something else.  Nora and Mia repeated the phrase "Night night!" (sometimes in the form of a question) over and over and over repeatedly all the time they were playing their game.

Cooper came in with his binky attached to his shirt.  I guess Mia thought he'd had it long enough.  She grabbed it and pulled hard until it came off, handed it to me and said, "Cubby!"  He didn't even flinch or complain!  :)  Or maybe she thought; "I gave my binky to Gary and so can you Bubba!"

I put ponytails in Mia's hair and in the process I dropped a ponytail holder.  Later, Mia was playing and found it.  She was real excited and proud of herself for finding it and had to show me exactly where she found it at!  :)  Good job Mia!

Monday, October 28, 2013

10/28/2013

Mia ate chex cereal and mixed fruit for breakfast.  For lunch she ate roast beef sandwich, two servings of tomato soup, and ate apple pieces.

We did a toy, book, and puzzle exchange this weekend and Mia immediately went for the food toys!  She took out her binky and said, "Cubby!"  (Put it in my cubby!)  She played with the ice cream cones and the birthday cake.  Here's a picture of how the cake looks; the pieces velcro together.

And we have the swim goggles in this toy set!  She wanted me to help her put some on, then she went right to the mirror to see herself.  :)

Cooper is so active now and it's getting harder for the 'older' kids to get away from him!  Mia was saying, "No Coopa, No!"  He was trying to get in her space and get her toys.  Several times!  Wow! Who does that remind me of!!??!!  I swear he's a Mia-clone!  :)  They are both 'in your space' kids and like to be in the middle of any activity!  I was at the toy shelf repairing and re-taping a book.  He was shoving hard to get between me and the toy shelf!  And get his hands on anything and everything!

Mia was yawning several times this morning.  The busy weekend was probably catching up with her!  But she was very cooperative and played nice all morning.
